TownePlace Suites by Marriott Memphis Cordova

I’m not typically one to leave reviews, but after several extended stays at this Marriott, I feel it’s important to share my experience. On the positive side, some of the staff were genuinely friendly and tried to help. Unfortunately, that didn’t resolve the disturbances I experienced. First, the lack of reliable housekeeping was a major issue. Even though I requested cleaning every other day, it rarely happened despite multiple reminders. Second, the noise level was a consistent problem. The bass from the lobby music made it hard to sleep, and the walls were so thin that I could clearly hear my neighbors. Stopped in for one night on my way north. Lots of parking, well lit, and no problem parking my U-Haul. The gentleman who checked me in was very friendly and professional. I booked a double queen studio and it was HUGE. Well appointed kitchen with everything you might need. The best part of the room was the lighting…so many options which I love because I enjoy reading while in my room. Also, lots of usb charging ports and plug locations. Would definitely stay here again!

You would figure the Marriot name means something, but not here. Elevator was out of service going up, so I carried two 50 lbs bags up the stairs 4 flights after an 8.5 hour drive, with a bad back and shoulder. Then the next morning, the hotel lost power so only a few things were available for breakfast. Finally, we have to shower in the dark. Electricity was fixed the next day, but not the elevators. The breakfast this day had ham and egg sandwiches which were hot on the outside and cold on the inside. The only thing pleasant about this hotel was one of their front staff named Sharon. She was very personable.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing due to inconsistent housekeeping and a serious breach of trust regarding my personal belongings. On Sunday, December 28, I went grocery shopping and meal-prepped food specifically for my gluten allergy, storing everything in my in-room refrigerator. When I returned from work on Monday, December 29 around 5:30 PM, I discovered that my refrigerator had been reorganized and several food items were missing. No permission was given for anyone to access my personal food. I immediately reported this to the front desk and spoke with the manager, Lederick, the following morning around 9:00 AM. His response was dismissive and unprofessional. He never apologized and stated, “Well I guess I have to ask maintenance to interrogate your door.” When I ex

I had an extended stay at this hotel. It is in a very convenient location near the interstate, with close access to all the stores and restaurants, and it is a quiet and safe location. This is a nice, newer property. But it is understaffed. +Friendly staff. +Nice rooms and very comfortable beds. +Full size fridge, kitchenette and stovetop. +Excellent location, quiet, safe. +Laundry has new machines that work well. +Ice makers and water bottle fill stations alternate per floor. -Did not receive timely responses in Bonvoy app. -No toner for business center printer. -Breakfast is not great, but this is an issue w/ most Marriott's these past few years. -Front Desk service was ( in person or calling ) was hit and miss. -Housekeepers friendly, but hard to find at times.
