TownePlace Suites by Marriott Chicago Waukegan/Gurnee

It’s Waukegan and while it’s right next to a casino and close to restaurants, there is a banquet hall right next door. If they are having an event you might expect to have loud music, disruptive patrons or other disturbing noises in the evening hours. Rooms are clean but you can tell the stairwells and carpet are starting to show wear and tear. The reason for the star is because employee turnover seems to be high (red flag) and the manager has a pompous attitude. I complained about a difficult/confusing check in with a mobile app and unregistered guest and he wrote me a novel of a response. Couldn’t even be bothered to read all of it… when someone shows you who they are, believe them. What started like a quiet and peaceful stay turned into a surprise party right over our heads. The hotel itself is nice and clean with friendly staff, who were nice and accommodating. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until out last night. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was spacious with amazingly high ceiling. Great full kitchen with an a great bathroom and more than enough towels and pillows. Our final night we were in for a surprise when the guests right above us were having a party. Even waited till about 12:30 as it seemed to quiet down but gave up and told the front desk. If you think it was bad in our room not sure how nobody else complained as you could here all of it from outside. Unfortunately that didn't help much as the music was lowered but the crazy party continu

Prime location! Great staff! Great rooms! Great amenities! Great service! We were very pleased with everything. Not one complaint!

As a travel advisor I always try to stay at Marriott properties. Front staff were inviting and friendly. Kitchenette room was spacious with an extra large bathroom. Standard hot breakfast was good. Will recommend to my clients.

We stayed here for our son's Navy graduation and it was a great distance from the base, 15 minutes easy. Trina checked us in the first night and she was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly and helpful, polite and just a lovely person to speak with.
