Motel 6 Waukegan, IL

The only thing nice about this hotel is how easy it is to get a full refund. I don’t review many places but this place should be shut down! The photos online of the rooms are false advertising and if I cared enough I’m sure it could turn into a lawsuit. As seen in the attached photos the room is disgusting… from the start when you walk in the back building the door to get through is shattered, you’re instantly hit with the smell of stagnant cigarettes when you walk in. It took us messing with the door of our room for 5 minutes to get it to work. When it did finally work we walked in to see a very bland and dirty room. The bathroom had quite a few spots of peeling on the walls with parts of the tub separated and the door covered in stains, the wall by the bed as well as other areas had

We found 2 roaches with an hour of being there. The bathroom toilet had umflushed pee in the toilet. The towels, rags and hand towels looked so old. They we dingy and looked like something you would mop the floors with. The bathroom floor had hair all on the floor. Behind the toilet was disgusting. We took the pillowcase off and the pillow was stained yellow with either slob or sweat. You can tell the comforter hadn't been washed. The sheets did look clean but had dark stains on then. The worst motel that I have ever been. Never in my trips to other states have I experienced such a bad motel. The service was ok, the room, especially bathroom in poor shape. The worst however, was the noise up to 3am, parting, music and smoke. It seems like these people get money from the government to live there. Do not waste your money.

July 2024|This was the absolute WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed at!!!! The only good thing is that is was close to the naval base for my daughters graduation so we roughed it out for her. The junkies are always by the pool!! We were told there is no military or aarp discount but the website says otherwise. Locks to side doors are supposed to be room key access only and they’re broken so there is nothing secure about the establishment. It looks nothing like the photos on the website which are a vibrant orange. There was mold in the bathroom so I’m sick now. The sink wouldn’t drain. Cockroaches in my sisters room and awful smells in the hallways. The bedding had stains and had to purchase our own. I’m surprised this is on the list of hotels to stay for graduation. I stayed here on october thirty first and the room was horrible. The only reason I didn't leave immediately was because I was exhausted from traveling. The sheets were soiled. The bathroom was dirty. The next morning, the television did not work. I contacted the front desk.They told me they would fix it.Soon. i waited 4 2 hours, and nobody ever came. I contacted them again and still no t v. Customer service is horrible and the place is so dirty. I will never stay at this place again. If you're looking for a clean place to stay, then you don't want to stay here.
