TownePlace Suites by Marriott Charleston-North Charleston

Picked this place on a whim while traveling into town. Not disappointed at all. The front desk associate was pleasant enough, helpful, and quick. The room was great. So much space and amenities i don't typically expect (very functional mini kitchen). The beds and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable. The continental breakfast had a nice spread too.

Everything was wonderful, the room was excellent, clean, fresh and smelling good. The host was very polite and concerned about our stay being topnotch, and it was for sure. This place well deserve five-star plus.... We will return and share with others of our delightful visit.

Originally planned for 2 nights but had to cancel 2nd night. Our room was disgusting upon arrival. Went to front desk to try to change rooms and was told they were sold out and all the rooms look the same anyways. I cancelled my 2nd night and checked out at 6am. The only good thing I can say is the location was convenient to convention center and tanger outlets. In desperate need of remodel or better cleaning staff because this is unacceptable. The chair speaks of itself. The bathroom has mildew on ceilings and inside mirror. The walls had substances all over them. The room had no tv remote. It was just gross.

While I really did enjoy the stay and the facilities were nice, there were a few issues I encountered on my two week stay. I found that a lot of the issues could have been avoided if there would have been better management, because it certainly was not a staffing issue. The first thing I noticed was on my visit to the gym where the TV remote, nor the TV was in working condition. There also were no cups for the water dispenser, no towels/paper towels and nothing to sanitize surfaces. There were also several dumbbells/weights missing in the workout area; no 8, 10 or 12 lb weights. The gym was also never cleaned for the entire two weeks I was there, the trash was never removed and the floors were filthy/dusty. I was at this hotel for almost 7 weeks due to my husband's job. This was an amazing place to stay and everyone was so nice and helpful. The rooms are amazing and they even go above and beyond from Mon-Thurs and have dinner free of charge. Breakfast is free and included daily and so good. They have a great selections of food and there are many things to keep you busy. The Manager is the best! You can tell how much he loves his work and he is such an amazing person. I will never stay anywhere else. Luckily my husband got a job there so we are lucky enough to now be moving there..but we will always recommend this hotel to everyone as you couldn't get better than this.
