TownePlace Suites by Marriott Auburn University Area

Stayed here for a long term while relocating. Staff was accommodating and very responsive to requests. Management acted quickly to any very small issues. Breakfast was better than most and we used the outdoor grilling area several times. Staff provided seasoning and even BBQ utensils. Everything was clean and very sanitary.

Positive: The room had a separate bedroom. Negative: I did not like the air being controlled from the wall because it would turn off the unit without being at the specified temperature and was very quiet at night.

The place is very close to good restaurants including indian restaurants. Being a bit far from university commute is difficult unless you have a car or someone is there to drive you around. The suit rooms have all the necessary amenities. The property being a favourite for the students, the maintenance of the rooms are not very good. A damp smell was there in my room probably from the carpet or the dishwasher. The staff was very polite and was ready to support.

The facility is nice and I'm normally forgiving of small errors, but the string of errors here points to a management problem. First, no toilet paper in the room. Not a big deal but surprising. Then I find dirty coffee mugs in the cabinet. OK, sometimes staff are rushed. One mug is clean, so I let it slide. Then the shower doesn't drain. That's a problem as it was a walk-in shower, and so I have a choice between getting in and out as quickly as possible or sharing used shower water with the room below me. Again, I'm forgiving about one-off things like this. I quietly inform the front desk. No biggie. Then it's time for breakfast. There's a small selection of stuff available.. I'm looking around for cutlery. Find it on a table. Also on the table right next to the cutlery: a bucket of dirt

Rooms.are basically brand new and are very functional. The manager was very hospitable. Beds were great. Easy to control room temp. Great location.
