Customer Reviews
Me and my fiancée were recently driving to Florida and stayed at the Thunderbird on our departure and return trip. This is by far the best motor inn we have stayed at. The location itself is great and was a short 10-15 walk from the downtown where we enjoyed an evening meal after our arrival. It is a pleasant area for walking around. We are traveling with our dog and had a very positive experience for pet accommodations. They have a dedicated well maintained fenced pet area which is accessible through an exterior gate and through a door in the main check in office. The rooms have hardwood floors which is preferable for pets and they provided us with a first floor room which was very convenient for leaving the room for walks. We were able to park right in front of our room which was conv
I booked Thunderbird Inn for the retro vibe and left wondering how it has the reviews it does.||The headline issue is the so-called "GuestCast" TV amenity. There are no normal TV channels, no built-in apps, and everything depends on you having your own Netflix/YouTube/etc and a phone capable of casting. The system is buggy, crashes often, and the hotel network was only around 20 Mbps, so realistically it can only handle one or two people casting at once before it falls over. Calling this an "amenity" is not a stretch, it is an overt lie: if your device cannot cast, or you do not feel like doing IT support on holiday, you effectively have no TV at all.||Housekeeping was equally disappointing. On a multi-night stay there was no daily room upkeep offered: no fresh towels, no bins emptied, no
Positive: Value and it is fairly close to the main tourist spots Negative: The toilet did not flush properly. We had to have maintenance called. The room could use black out curtains. The key card was hard to use, there were times it took 10-15 tries to open the door, plus the door would stick and be hard to open.
We loved our stay here for our honeymoon and the location is fantastic. We love the vintage 60s vibe of the hotel which is why we chose to stay here. You can walk to almost everything you want to go to. The free donuts are good and come from a local bakery. They put moon pies and RC colas for us when we got into our room. The property is an older one so don’t expect a Hilton. The rates are reasonable compared to the other places nearby.
The idea & retro vibe of the hotel is great. Loved the decor, moon pies & RC left. The rooms could use a little more upkeep. The tv didn’t turn on & it says there is a hairdryer in the room, but there wasn’t. The popcorn was stale & the donuts were dry. The parking should be included for 1 vehicle in with room purchase. Location was good to walk everywhere. Overpriced for what you get.
