I came to DC for a quick midweek getaway and I had an amazing experience! From checking in Ryan explained everything very well and even gave me recommendations for places to go in/around DC. (I took the recommendations and they were actually good!) The rooms were very well kept and definitely had a relaxing ambiance to them. The rooms service was quick, and even breakfast was very nice. Upon checking out Eefram (sorry if im spelling it wrong!) confirmed I had a good stay and made a few jokes which were nice because I do travel a lot sometimes I dont feel the same warmth when im leaving as when I came. Overall 10/10. Also I did feel very safe as a solo female traveler in this hotel!
Pros: Decently close to the metro stop.||Cons: A 36% fee was charged and it was not disclosed at check-in or in the policy paper they give you on “free breakfast.” And the best part… tax on something that is a free offering! If you have a food credit to use, be ready to pay those big fees. When I asked about this undisclosed fee, I had an interaction with a negative front desk agent who was referenced in another guest’s review as rude and unprofessional, and I agree. Charging a fee as “policy” that doesn’t align with the chain’s standards and isn’t disclosed to the guest is not acceptable.||In the room, there were a few small pieces of trash on the bathroom floor. The bathroom door doesn’t close because it’s not aligned with the door jam. Peeling paint all around in the room. The hotel alw
Positive: I will spare you my opinion. Happy new year! Negative: The restaurant is a suggestion best remove it.
My stay at Thompson by Hyatt in Washington, DC was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Thanks to American Express collection, I was able to check in early and check out late, which made the experience even better. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was offered (taxes apply, but the food is 100% worth it), and I also received a $100 credit that I used for room service and dining — everything was delicious. The rooftop bar was a very good with great drinks and an amazing vibe. The hotel is perfectly located next to the Navy Yard Metro, making it easy to get anywhere, including the White House and major attractions. The cleanliness, scent of the hotel, and the body wash, shampoo, and lotion were outstanding. This is hands down the best ho
The Rooftop at the Thompson (bar lounge) has some beautiful views at night and leans towards the mid-30 and under crowd. I am not that! So after I got my fill for the atmosphere we headed downstairs to the hotel bar. Best bartender EVER! Wish I remembered his name. Our stay there was very nice and the staff receives A++ all around. We would definitely stay again.
