My experience at Highroad Hotel was unbeatable. I absolutely loved every corner of this place. They offer coffee, tea, water, and ice 24 hours a day, and you can also leave your luggage in lockers before check-in and after check-out, which is perfect if you have flights at inconvenient times. The common areas are very comfortable and offer everything you might need to cook or eat, plus cozy couches to relax, books, and board games. The staff is incredibly kind and always ready to help with anything you might need. The rooms are clean and well equipped. I stayed in a shared room with six women, and the beds were very comfortable. Each bed has its own curtain for privacy, as well as a personal charger and reading light. There is also plenty of storage space in the room, including a large l
I loved my stay at the High Road. It is in a vibrant part of town close to great coffee shops & quaint shops (highly recommend Because Science.) There are Metro stops & city bike docks close by to get to the monuments & museums. Being a solo traveler I felt safe & welcome. My room was clean & had large windows providing a light & bright space. The hotel is well stocked providing anything you would need from coffee, tea, ice, filtered water to books, maps, & extra toiletries you might need. Thank you for the safe & welcoming space!
This hostel is good. The kitchen is well equipped, there are free toiletries (woah! Yeah!), and though the street is distant from the train, the bus runs right in front of the hostel, and the neighborhood has lots to do late at night- bars, pizza, record shops. Beds have curtains and lights so you won't be disturbed by other people quietly reading with the lights on. Single occupancy bathrooms in the hallway, which is also nice for privacy. You must have an ID from a different country or area other than DC in order to stay, however.
Nice and clean. Easy to find, right next to the bus stop, busses 90 and 96. Staff was polite and helpful. Would recommend.
I've stayed in at least 25 hostels around the globe and I can attest this is one of the best ones I've ever been (if not the best). Rooms give you plenty of space to storage your belongings (with no extra cost unlike other hostels). Hostel provides you with unlimited toiletries and towels. Facilities are clean and quiet. The location on 18th Street is just perfect as you have all the night life clubs nearby and U street just a couple of blocks away. Public transportation is just in front of the building. The environment is quiet and staff often kept for themselves which is something I find very acceptable (they were always willing to help). If you are looking for a hostel to socialize, I would give this one an A+ as many people there always seemed to mind their own business and as an intr
