The Westin San Antonio North

I'm a Hilton loyalist, but I decided to give this try, as I've never seen a bad Westin. This was the exception. My flight got in at noon and I had a ton of work today. I went to the hotel and exchanged pleasantries with the person at the front desk. I then politely asked if there was any way my room might be ready. I was told "The problem is, check in is at 4:00 and you're here at 12:30. You're going to have to pay us $25 if you want in early". I'm accustomed to a late check out fee, but I was surprised to be charged for a room that was ready for my arrival - and she made me feel like a criminal for asking for an early check in. The location was convenient, and the lobby entrance was nicely decorated for the holidays. Unfortunately, the room itself was dated, with dark, worn carpets, visible wall stains, and cracked caulking in the bathroom, though the bed was comfortable. The biggest issue was the lack of hot water—despite contacting the front desk and messaging through the app, it took three hours to receive a response, and the problem was still unresolved the next morning. Maintenance eventually came and ran the sink to produce briefly warm water in the shower, which ran out quickly. After nearly 12 hours without hot water and poor customer service throughout, I canceled my stay for the following night. This is not a hotel I would recommend or choose to stay at again.

We booked this Hotel every year on Thanksgiving day after visiting and celebrated with family and cousins. We loved this Hotel

The beds are excessively soft. The room was clean and the linens and sheets were exceptional, but the hallways were filthy. It looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks. The walls between the rooms are paper-thin—I could clearly hear my neighbors’ televisions and every cough. I was also surprised that someone slipped a take-out menu under the door, so security is obviously not too great. Given the choice, I wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel was ultimately a disappointment. My girlfriend and I came here for valentines weekend as we traveled to visit San Antonio for the first time. The staff in the lobby were very warm and welcoming yet that was the only good thing. We were charged extra for a continental breakfast that was very unappetizing for a 4-star quality hotel. The breakfast staff was rude and was no help at all in explaining how the seating worked. No one told us we had to wait to be seated and just to get a table.You will be charged to park at the Hotel which is $10 a night, you will be charged for the poor breakfast option, you will be charged for wifi, which is fine if you were paying for the Hi-speed option but, for basic wifi at $20 is not ok.
