The Westin DC Downtown

Fantastic hotel with wonderful rooms. The staff was incredible. Make sure to bring your walking shoes to explore D.C., as the hotel's location is excellent.

As a Marriott Ambassador, I am very picky on my hotel stays. Having stayed at 20+ DC area Marriotts, my new recent stay at this Westin was top notch. The bar was bright and lively, food amazing, staff friendly and comfortable beds. Bonus is the Hertz in the hotel and cheap (if that's possible in DC) open parking lot across the street. I will be back!! Melissa

Chris and Arda at the valet stand were great! Very prompt and polite. We got checked in right away and had great bell hop service at check-in and checkout. The room was pleasant and clean. We love this location and have been here several times. ||Our one complaint this time around was that there was a lot of construction work going on on our floor, right outside our room. They started at 7am on Saturday morning, which was a little too early to wake up guests.

My favorite hotel when going to the convention center. It’s not attached but it’s so close. It has breakfast options that are fast. The main floor is a great place to lounge and catch up with colleagues. The hotel rooms are updated and quiet. And it had my favorite feature: the thermostat in the hotel rooms can be set with the Fan On continuously to low, medium, or high. Perfect for anyone who needs white noise to sleep.

Dear Westin staff, I am reaching out regarding the security deposit charged during my recent stay. Upon check-in, I was surprised to learn that a deposit could only be taken by card. When I offered to pay in cash, I was informed that hotel policy does not allow cash deposits — a detail that was never mentioned during the booking process. My room rate had already been fully prepaid. This situation resulted in a delay during check-in after a 15-hour flight, and the handling of the matter did not feel professional. All of the hotels I have stayed at in the United States have accepted cash deposits, and I have never encountered this issue before — especially given that such policies should be clearly stated at the time of booking.
