The Westin Annapolis

We were staying at this hotel for a wedding. The rate was reasonable. I was very impressed with the room and how clean it would. The housekeeping staff was respectful our our privacy and cleaned our room promptly. The mattress and comfortable/sheets were the BEST I have ever had at a hotel (I would like to consider myself well traveled). We really liked that the pink free shuttle stopped right outside of the lobby giving us the opportunity to go downtown. The catering staff were AMAZING! They worked the event the night before until 11pm+clean up and then were the same staff at the breakfast the next morning 9am+ set up. Everything was amazing. We came to Annapolis for our honeymoon of a few days. The room was on a high floor which we appreciated. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet; we slept well! The first evening we thought about eating in the hotel restaurant, but it is just a bar and had a very limited menu. We went across the street to an Italian place instead and were glad we did. There is a very handy shuttle that takes you down to the charming section and the dock, which we used regularly. We were leaving the second morning and the housekeepers were working on the floor so we figured they would make up the room. When we returned several hours later, no dice. When I called the service person asked if we had the do not disturb sign out — um no. Then she said housekeeping is by request only — what? Why didn’t so

Positive: location and cleanliness Negative: Check in was at 3pm. We arrived at 4:30pm but had to wait 15-20 minutes for our reserved and prepaid for room. That was very disappointing after a 10 hour drive.

Hotel is great. Rooms are quiet and comfy. Service and bar is excellent. However, deducting 1 star due to parking situation. They will not pre inform about parking until you reach there and then you get to know that you have to use valet parking or else charges will be doubled. For a 4-star hotel, having no parking/paid parking should automatically reduce 1 star.

I will never understand the low price of this hotel. It has always been my favorite spot in Annapolis. Easy walk to all the best eatery's and bars, solid lobby bar and restaurant along typical Westin rooms and great service.
