I checked in quite late, was after 10 pm but although I am Titanium Elite and there were room upgrades available I was not given an upgrade. When we got to the room it was quite cold so I turned up the temperature but to no avail. The room remained cold and got a bit colder after a while. There was no one on staff at that point to fix the thermostat so they brought us blankets. By the time they offered to move us, I was already sleeping so my guest did not want to wake me. Upon waking the room was still super cold and we had to shower and the water was varying temperatures. It did not stay constantly hot or cold. You did get a few things right. I did like the friendship bracelets, the rose and eucalyptus scented fragrance bags and the hot chocolate and cookies on the way out was a nice t
Superior location, very good service (for the most part) ….. but it’s an old building in need of systems upgrades. 2 minute walk to DuPont circle and the DuPont metro station north entrance. Hard to beat the location on top of one of DC’s best neighborhoods and access to the entire city with subway, bus and walking. Desk employees were uniformly and sincerely pleasant and helpful. An example: I wanted some cream in my coffee made with the in-room keurig. On 2 different days, the desk agent was happy to go into the then closed cafe and accommodate me. Rooms and public areas are well decorated and squeaky clean. The fitness center was huge, bright, clean, well equipped and all the gear was in good order. A few comments and I’ll start with a serious complaint. I was in a 7th floor peti
The hotel is lovely. The employees at the Ven made the trip absolutely wonderful. Helen, Cookie, Kamil, Negash and Faceel are some of the best. How a hotel has such a warm, welcoming and above average staff is remarkable. I didn't meet any of the housekeeping staff but, our room was always fresh and clean. |We enjoyed the roof top pool (it was a summery September weekend) and the bar/restaurant area. The hotel is up the street from Dupont Circle. Restaurants, cafes and museums all within a short walking distance. We thank the staff at the Ven for making our trip so memorable.
I did not have the pleasure of using the facilities however, I must commend the staff for always being helpful and friendly throughout my stay. I would recommend that the staff be advised on a contingency plan or when there are power cuts in the area to mitigate any discomfort and inconvenience experienced by guests. Unfortunately during my stay at the hotel, the power went out from 4am till the time I checked out at 2pm. It would have been a nice gesture to offer bottled water, discounted rates, coupons or some type of assistance to the guests who were at the hotel to ameliorate the unpleasant situation of being without power for such a long time. Other than that, I think the hotel is in a good location and is easily accessible depending on your needs in DC.
The rooms were perfectly fine, and I found the small restaurant there to serve well-prepared meals. While selection was smallish, the quality of the 4 different dishes I had were well above average. <2 blocks to a Metro station - which will take you anywhere. Great 1st experience in DC, thanks in part to The Ven.
