The Tarratine Inn on French Street

The Inn is elegant, charming, and beautifully restored with a strong historic character and modern amenities such has heat pumps throughout, Roku tv's, host provided access to Youtube TV, good wifi, fire and Co2 alarms. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds, luxury linens and top duvet, wonderfully soft bath towels and quality furnishings. Our bed was very comfortable with multiple pillows. Loved the charm of the home, I could envision how comfortable and high end the home was when it was built. The building was brilliantly designed. The now common area is very elegant. We stayed in the Peary Suite. We were fortunate the owners allowed us to bring our yellow lab Striker for our stay. If you are so allowed, please be respectful of the property and pick up after your dog. Its a very nice neig

What a wonderful experience ! My wife and I celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary at The Terratine. Our accommodations were exquisite. The Inn was tranquil, peaceful and absolutely spotless. We were welcomed by the owner who helped us with our luggage.|We ate at the adjacent restaurant and were overwhelmed by the service and outstanding quality of the food.|Thank you for making our anniversary a truly wonderful experience and for the memories that we will treasure

Our one night stay in the Mary Chase Smith Suite was idyllic and wonderfully romantic! Our room's period appointments were both classic and elegant, while addressing our every need. We had a very comfortable and quiet night's sleep. Our hosts welcomed us with a tour of the guest's public space - a lovely parlor, game room and dining room - and ensured that we were treated in the morning to a lovely coffee, fruit and (vegan) pastry breakfast. The dining room table was elegantly set and we felt like we had been transported back to a better place and time. We stayed here for a weekend in October and it was amazing. Spotless, historic, charming, and an excellent value. We had the Chase Smith Suite which was HUGE. It has a bedroom, living space with TV, couch, and a good sized bathroom. I'd recommend this suite for anyone wanting a little more space. It is an old house so it's definitely not sound proof, but everyone was very respectful with their noise levels. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I were going to Maine for a short vacation and visit to Acadia National Park for the colors and hiking. We stayed at the Tarratine Inn and had a wonderful time.||The room was delightful, cozy, clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. Bob and Tricia were great hosts and if we needed anything were just a text away.||The location was great being so close to downtown, very walkable and a good number of restaurants available. The only downside was most close early on Sunday so go early. A shout out to Paddy Murphy's for the great pub and music of Tuesday night. ||Even though the cost is more than the run-of-the-mill hotel/motel, the experience was well worth it. The house has been magnificently restored and we would stay there again if the occasion should arise. It was a grea
