We recently did a staycation in Chicago at the beautiful The St. Regis Chicago, and the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the level of service, attention to detail, and overall hospitality truly set this hotel apart. The property itself is stunning—elegant, modern, and impeccably maintained—but what really makes the St. Regis special is the incredible staff who make you feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout your stay. One of the highlights of our visit was spending time at Miru, the hotel’s fantastic restaurant and bar. We enjoyed brunch there twice and also stopped in several times for drinks, and every single visit was outstanding. The service was absolutely exceptional, and the team consistently went above and beyond to make our
Marriott Titanium. ||Weekend staycation with my wife. ||Pros:|- Staff: all professional and courteous. |- Room: our suite was spacious and clean. |- Restaurants: the Italian restaurant was excellent. The Japanese restaurant was also excellent for breakfast and lunch. |- Gym: modern and has plenty of equipment to get a good workout. |- Pool: was great with great views. |- Car service: a great amenity and was able to take advantage to get around to other places as it's in the off-beaten path. ||Cons:|- Staff: may be nitpicky, but while everyone was professional and courteous, it wasn't as warm and the staff wasn't as anticipatory vs other St Regis properties I've stayed at. I don't think this St Regis has a butler as well. |- Room layout/design: this St Regis was designed to be a condo,
Overall, a lovely stay and a great hotel experience. The location is excellent—tucked away on a quiet, almost dead-end street by the river, which means minimal traffic and a welcome sense of calm. Most major attractions are within walking distance or just a short Uber ride away. The hotel also offers an in-house car for nearby drop-offs, which is a thoughtful and convenient touch. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully maintained, and well appointed with excellent amenities. Our suite, in particular, offered wonderful views, which made the stay feel even more special. The hotel facilities are also a standout. The gym is well equipped, the indoor swimming pool is a pleasure to unwind in, and the gender-designated saunas add an extra layer of comfort and relaxation. I recently stayed at The St. Regis Chicago and, while the rooms are undeniably beautiful and luxurious, the overall experience did not meet expectations. The accommodations themselves are stunning, well designed, elegant, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of the brand’s reputation. During my stay, the valet misplaced my car keys and there was no apology offered when they were eventually located. That lack of accountability was disappointing. Additionally, the comforter in my room was torn along the hem. It took multiple calls to the concierge and an excessive amount of time before it was replaced. For a property at this level, basic room quality and prompt service should be standard. Given the price point and the St. Regis name, I expected far more attention to
For what is expected of a five star hotel, this stay was incredibly disappointing. I booked with points and when we were checking in, we were told we were being upgraded. This was a spare room that they just threw us in, not an upgrade. The room was small, looked nothing like the pictures in terms of size. The TV cord had either been cut or disconnected, and an engineer had to come up to change it. The bathtub was not working either and the engineer said it couldn’t be fixed before the end of the night, so we were out that amenity. I ordered food and it went missing. Instead of us getting help from the staff to find it, we were given the run around until I came downstairs myself. Lastly, we were charged for items we never took from the minibar. I agree with others who say to choose anoth
