The Shore House

My husband and I stayed at The Shore House this past weekend and had an amazing time. The hotel was decorated like it was plucked out of a Hallmark movie, done by a single staff member, Jen, who made us feel at home all weekend. She seems to be the heart and soul behind the operation. Our room was comfortable and clean. They offered a light breakfast in the morning and the bar attached had some delicious evening cocktails. Relaxing by the fire with a beverage was probably the best part of our trip. We will definitely be going back.

Customer service and website not great. No info given at check in, no attempt to assist with a room misunderstanding, no call back when we had to follow up with a question about a lost item. Surfside must be nice in summer but not as clean as expected and cold in winter. Bad noise control between rooms in Surfside. Heaters are not connected in bathroom and no prior explanation of that though they must have had years to correct. Views of parking lot from Surfside, though not far to see the ocean. Nicer in the main inn. Best I can say is the King bed was comfortable and continental breakfast was nice.

We had a great time staying at The Shore House. The location was prime! Such a pretty view from the restaurant. Our room didn’t have any views, but we were ok with that. The room had a functional AC. The bed and pillows were actually really comfy. The room and bathroom were clean. We needed an ironing board, which they were able to provide within minutes of asking. Parking is provided. I appreciate the staff being so adamant on reserving parking for guests. They were out there all day kicking non-guests out. They also let us keep our car there for a few hrs after check out so that we could go to the beach. The staff were so friendly and it seemed like they really loved their job.

Exactly what I was looking for on my vacation. Main house has colonial vibe but rooms have retro classic motel take. The view and sound of ocean waves in the morning while enjoying a cup of coffee can't be beat. So peaceful - a great way to turn down the stress. Only critique is that some of the choices to maintain the austhetic are a bit less convenient (ei, sink that has set up that is awkward to access at times) still, if you have the budget, well worth the stay to unwind.
