Scarborough Beach Motel

In reading some of the other reviews it is confusing but I guess everyone has different experiences. I stayed the first week of October. I enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and looked like it was recently updated. Shower was beautiful. I found the bed comfortable. As for views. I didn't book an ocean view room and I was on the side of the complex with a separate parking lot. I would definitely say the only ocean view rooms are probably on the 2nd floor. The motel is across the street from Scarborough beach so anything on the first floor is cars , road and parking lots. I will definitely stay again. But will be mindful of my room placement.

Positive: Close to ocean Negative: Room 122 , next to utility room , constant noise keeping me up half the night. Bed was uncomfortable. Terrible night , 1st time , last time. Told check out person about issues. They acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Ignorant owners.

Told check out person on issues , just to be told he didn't know what I was talking about. Then 5 minutes later the lady who checked us in stated she knew about noise. Book this hotel room for a romantic getaway. I was told my room was an ocean view. upon arrival, I was getting there about an hour and a half earlier than check-in. They told me I could check in but they were going to charge me an early check-in fee of $35. When I arrived, my hotel room was nothing of an ocean view. My view was a parking lot on one side and where the window was. It was a view of the street with the building that blocked the ocean view. In order to get the ocean view, you had to walk across the highway to go to the beach to the ocean. I also asked if they had an ice machine and they do not have ice you have to buy bags of ice.

I booked a room on Friday afternoon for Friday and Sat night, had a rain and wind storm hit and couldn’t make it. Tried to cancel a few hours later after I paid 324$ and didn’t get any money refunded. Because apparently if you book through a third party whose websites look deceiving like the hotel. They can do that. I called the hotel to see if there was anything they could do and didn’t get any help. Why would a business partner with third parties if they know they do stuff like that. Will never do business with Scarborough beach motel again. They have a nice little scam going on. I hope this saves other people from making the same mistake I did.
