The Shay, a Destination by Hyatt Hotel

My family had an exceptional stay at the Shay over New Years. We were greeted with a very warm welcome by Carmel and Rebecca at the reception desk, who were helpful and friendly, including providing us with Waymo promo codes. The hotel is clean, modern and very well located in walkable Culver City. The room was equipped with everything we needed, and had a comfy window seat. Great Globalist benefits, including delicious breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. The Mediterranean restaurant was also very tasty. Highly recommend!

Excellent, comfortable room with impeccable service. We stayed during a rare torrential downpour and the hotel staff recommended a nice shopping mall. Dinner and breakfast at Butterfly excellent, as was the service. Relatively walkable area, especially for LA, with restaurants and things to do near the hotel. We will happily return!

Beautiful boutique hotel in very convenient location in Culver City, right next to the Metro station, within walking distance of Culver City Steps, shops and eating places. Shared a room with my family member in a room with 2 double beds. Liked the modern vibe and design, room was reasonably spacious, loved the long cabinet below TV which doubled as a workspace. Bathroom was nice and spacious with good amount of counter top space. Didn't get to try the gym or pool as we didn't have time. Also didn't try the breakfast place as it wasn't included in my room rate. Our room faced inwards and was very quiet despite the Metro line running nearby. The service staff at hotel were very responsive and friendly. Excellent choice if you're staying in Culver City!

Another nice stay at The Shay. Booked it online using a free Hyatt night cert when I wasn't able to make a flight out of LA in time. Their restaurant made sure I had some food despite my late arrival and as a Globalist for Hyatt, upgraded to a nice king suite. Nice to have the work space and couch as worked the next morning before my flight. Love the bathroom design at The Shay with counterpane, makeup area, and a shelf above the main counter and sink perfect for toothbrush and more. Very comfortable room and bedding, still fairly new hotel and good design. Had a nice poolside breakfast the next morning and made my unexpected night in LA very pleasant. Easy access to USC too and good location for other restaurants and shops right across the street, as well as a metro station.

A relatively new, stylish hotel with a great vibe. I really liked the interior design, and the location is very convenient—close to Culver City shopping and dining. The staff were friendly, helpful, and consistently nice throughout my stay. Valet parking is $55 per night and Destination fee is $30 per night, which feels quite expensive. The main downside was the poor soundproofing. The first night was very noisy due to street traffic and hallway noise, and I was woken up multiple times. The hotel kindly moved me to a yard-facing room on the second night, which was much quieter. Still, for a hotel at this price point, better sound insulation would be expected.
