The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

We spent 3 days at the Sanctuary for golf and to attend a wedding. We arrived around 10pm and by 11:30pm we decided we were going to book another trip and come back later this year. The hotel itself is beautiful and the golf courses are incredible. Worth every penny. The service is the most impressive aspect. We had the pleasure of meeting Chris when we arrived who was the nicest and most helpful person that we’ve ever encountered in hospitality! We ate a lot at the Jasmine Porch and were amazed how genuinely friendly and kind the servers were. Ocean Room was delicious with amazing staff as well. The staff here is just so impressive, top of their industry. Truly a 5 star resort and we can’t wait to come back!

It would have been a 5 , except it rained and poured all 6 days we were there. The Scantuary is totally a 5! Everything about all their amenities, restaurants, food, and service is top-notch! |Unfortunately, 4924 Park Lake Drive the Villa managed by the Scantuary properties was the worst place. As soon as we opened the door, the smell of mold and mildew hit our noses strongly - it was terrible. The furniture is all stained and worn, and there were candy wrappers behind the end table that showed us housekeeping doesn't do a thorough cleaning between guests. The refrigerator has rust dripping down the front door on the ice/water dispenser. The towel bars in the master bathroom and the toilet paper holder are in great need of repair. They are lose and kept falling down. There is black mold in

Such a wonderful getaway. It’s like stepping away to another world. This resort is amazing. The staff is wonderful and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and large. Beautiful views. I love how it’s a large resort but doesn’t feel crowded even when it’s full. The bar in the lobby is a great place for a quick drink or small snack. I highly recommend eating at the resort such as the Jasmine Porch. If you’re a local, go off season. It’s still beautiful weather and much cheaper!

Scenery was wonderful. Hotel is beautiful and the amenities are generally very nice. It's obviously expensive so my small complaints wouldn't be warranted at all typical chain hotel but I would expect a little more from a top resort place. Still, we enjoyed the experience.Anyway, wasn't too thrilled that when we walked in with suitcases and bags, nobody directed us where to check in, so we walked around confused for a minute or two, then the room we got was a double queen when we asked for a king bed. Also, all the EV charging stations were broken except for one which wasn't compatible with our rental (all the others were compatible) had to waste time driving up to the town hall and charging there. Also, a complimentary coffee bar would have been nice in the morning.

As someone who has been to multiple “5 star” resorts this one is not high on my list. I traveled here with 3 boys all under the age of 5 including a 1 yo. Check in was late, no crib in our room despite requesting it well in advance and at check in, and when my room was finally ready I was told there wasn’t a bellmen available to take our luggage to our room. No big deal! I offered to push the cart myself. Instead, I was told that isn’t allowed and I’d have to carry all my luggage! Who would even suggest that as I’m holding a screaming 1yo child!?!? I have been here multiple times and am unsure if I’ll be returning. Such a nice property and location but service needs to be addressed. Lastly, they need more than one inside bar with 4-5 seats to service an entire hotel. Check out The Breaker
