Kiawah Island Marathon & Half Marathon

Very well organized event and beautiful course. Pretty much as flat as it gets, only thing is, is that there's a lot of twist and turns in the last couples miles which can reek havoc on your legs in the final stages of a marathon, especially if you're trying to pick up the pace.

Well organized and very well staffed race! The villas we stayed at were close to all the events, I would recommend staying on the island for sure, either at the Sanctuary or villas. We will be back👍😊

Warning: If you stay off of Kiawah Island and thus need to drive the morning of the race, you'll need to plan extra time getting to the field where you will be required to park your vehicle then get onto the buses that will shuttle you to the start. The line of vehicles is insane and backs up miles trying to get onto the island. In 2017, we barely made it to the start with only 5 minutes to spare. If you read this, you've been warned.

Expect for all the alligators, not a bad place. Great beach...
