Kiawah Island Golf Resort Villa Check-In

Everything you see in the reviews is true: the good, the bad and the ugly. We liked that they developed the island but still preserved nature amid the homes and walking and biking trails. Beach is great but not very dog friendly. My main issue was with the bill. We followed instructions and left the keys in the room and waited for the bill to be emailed. At the end of the day it hadn’t come so I contacted them. To my amazement the bill had seven charges totaling $858 for 3 days of pet fees. It took several calls to obtain refund of $695 and first refund shorted me by $150. Do not leave without checking your bill!!!

If you like hiking and camping this is the place for you. You have to hike up steep stairs and are rewarded with a cold shower when you get in your room. They only good thing is the people!

So while checking in we were told that our villa which was in the ship watch villas, which was right on the ocean and completely renovated, the air-conditioning didn’t work. They told us at the villa front desk that we would never put us in something not comparable (lie.) Not only did they put us in villas that were further from the beach we also found a hot wheels car in the garbage disposal, blood on the sheets and a cockroach on the ceiling that fell on my daughter While watching TV. Upon check-in, we were not told that certain restaurants were closed for lunch, so we ended up driving for over an hour trying to find somewhere to eat. After complaining about the location of the villa, they moved us into another villa at least in the area on the ocean of the previous villa. The villa

There were little worms and roaches in the bed. We could not stay in that villa. They put us in a “clean “ room but told us we’d have to move back to the first room the following day after they had cleaned it up. We just checked out and left. We won’t be back. It’s too bad. Note: Don’t stay in the villas.
