The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown

Went for a couples get away. The location of this hotel makes it a perfect place to stay. Most attractions and restaurants are walking distance. Atmosphere inside is welcoming. We had a king room with a city view and that did not disappoint. We asked for extra pillows and those were promptly provided. Our room was spacious, clean and well maintained. I took off 1 star because the elevator noise was ridiculously loud with constant thumping and banging of the weights all hours of the day. We had to sleep with AI rain/thunderstorm noises just to drown out the thumping sounds. It did not bother us too much and we tolerated sleeping with white noise on, but if you are a light sleeper I would be cautious.

Positive: Location, cleanliness, city/river view. Negative: Yes. For the price there were no perks included. No complimentary or discounted breakfast as I was told over the phone. In addition there was no pool so the kids were bored once we came in for the evening.

I couldn’t have been happier with my stay. Satara checked me in and was so warm and friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed. Was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a room with an amazing view, and extra water was delivered to our room within 5 minutes of arriving. The room was very clean and spacious - there was plenty of room for 4 people. The location was perfect - close enough to walk to everything! Already looking forward to my next trip to Chicago.

The valet service is immaculate! A special shout out to Raymond and Javier. Javier thoroughly explained the whole valet process as it was my first time ever needing valet services. He was extremely patient and answered all of my questions. Raymond’s manners were out of this world! I know my vehicle was left in good hands. These two wonderful gentlemen deserve a raise. Overall, the valet are highly attentive and you can tell they truly care about their guests and their needs. I will definitely be going back!

Excellent stay with outstanding service We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room was very well prepared and thoughtfully arranged. We stayed in a high-floor corner room with a beautiful river view. The corner windows offered an almost 180-degree panoramic view, allowing us to enjoy stunning scenery from multiple angles. The view was absolutely beautiful and made the room feel open and special. Room service was prompt and efficient throughout our stay, which added greatly to our overall comfort. I would also like to especially mention the front desk staff member, Josh. He was extremely professional, friendly, and attentive.
