The Pontchartrain is a whole vibe. This place is New Orleans through and through, and an ideal home base for your next trip to the Big Easy. It’s rare to find a hotel that nails good food, great drinks, and genuinely excellent host of the city’s best jazz musicians all in one place, but The Pontchartrain delivers on all of it, plus a cozy, comfortable bed to come home to at night. The rooms and common spaces are eclectic, unique, and romantically true to the soul of New Orleans. One of the best parts of staying here is the location. Set in the Garden District, the hotel offers a quieter, more relaxed experience away from the chaos of the Quarter, while still being close enough to easily get to all the sights, music, food, and nightlife you’ll want to explore. It feels local, charming, and

You have no idea how much I regret booking this place. We had a nice hotel that we liked and I so wish we’d gone there instead of this place. We’re nice people but every time we ask the front desk for anything and we feel like they’re doing us a favor. Location sucks. Room smells like my grandma’s assisted living facility. The real horror is the restaurant. Guests get NO priority but the hostess and her buddies get to dictate who eats there. We couldn’t get seated at all (two days we tried to eat here but no one in Site to assist us) so we sat at empty tables and at 6:30 were chased away by said hostess bc she had friends coming at 7:30… I am tempted to cancel the rest of our stay. And this place is NOT walking distance to the French quarter. It stinks… literally and figuratively.

Positive: Good, live entertainment in the lounge. Negative: One elevator, be prepared to wait when they're busy (i.e. weekend nights). Ice have to be requested through room service. Room is cleaned when you leave. Fresh towels and toiletries have to be requested each day or will not be received. There's more...

We had the most incredible stay at The Pontchartrain Hotel, where I spent the night before my wedding with my mom and sister, got ready with my bridesmaids, and then spent the night of our wedding with my husband. It could not have been more perfect. We stayed in the Melpomene Suite, which was absolutely beautiful — spacious, full of natural light, and with a stunning view of the city. The room was the ideal setting for getting ready and made the entire experience feel so special and memorable. From the comfort of the suite to the overall charm of the hotel, everything exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful to The Pontchartrain Hotel for being such an important part of our wedding memories and highly recommend it to anyone celebrating a special occasion in New Orleans.

4 star?! Nawwwwrrrr. Maybe 20 years ago.. the rooms are past their prime, dingy & dated. There was a pair of someone else’s underwear in my dresser lol. The elevators were broken every other day, felt normal. Sadly, the staff comes off as tired and over it. Highlight of the hotel is Bayou Bar & Jack Rose, hands down. We were unfortunately here during a city wide “boil water” notice so there was no safe tap water available. We were offered tiny bottles of water at the front desk. I was given unnecessary attitude on Tuesday am for asking for a few extra bottles. ( I asked for 5) NO RUNNING WATER and this girl gave me shade for asking for clean water to brush my teeth and wash my hands with? Wow. When we later checked out and needed to store our luggage for the afternoon, the same front de
