The Moorings Inn

Really amazing experience at the Moorings Inn! We stayed here for one night (Saturday) for my birthday after 2 nights of camping at Blackwoods. It was so relaxing, great setting, quiet, with a comfy bed. We stayed in the Silver Spray suite which was huge, 2 rooms, a bathroom, multiple sitting areas, and our own private balcony overlooking the water. Such a hidden gem! Great service and they even put out some oatmeal, fruit, croissants, and coffee at breakfast that we ate in the backyard/patio. Thank you, we hope to be back soon!

The Moorings Inn is by far the best place to stay on the island! It was my first time in the area, and I could not have hoped for a better experience. The history simply oozed from every aspect of the home, but that was coupled with modern amenities for such a perfect combination. We stayed in Osprey, and I was simply in love. We arrived late for self check-in which was so easy, and we were immediately welcomed from the cold and dark night to a place of such warmth and invitation, with the main fireplace going and apples for snacking. The front desk was the most helpful with their food recommendations, specifically Clark Pointe Cafe for breakfast and Thurston’s for a lobster dinner. Our stay at the Moorings Inn was the highlight of our 50th Anniversary trip out east. The nautical theme of the Inn was continued within our clean comfortable room which provided a spectacular picturesque view of a Maine working harbor. Nancy was a gracious and exceptional host with her finger on the pulse of Mount Desert Island. With her sidekick Lola, they both greeted us warmly each morning with a complementary continental breakfast, which was promptly taken outside to the beach chairs. Our beach side coffee started with watching the sunrise and dedicated lobstermen heading out to check traps. The local wildlife provided plenty of morning and evening entertainment, from Blue Herons, ducks, an assorted shore birds, even some local deer, not to mention the spectacular sunset

Stayed 2 nights at this delightful Inn on our Bar Harbor/ Acadia vacation stop. Stayed in the Spindrift Suite with balcony and windows overlooking the gorgeous Southeast Harbor! King bed was super comfy. Got up for both sunrises and breathtaking! Enjoyed the eclectic historic decor everywhere. Nice continental breakfast as well . Would highly recommend this Inn for anyone looking for a fun different place to stay that you will remember forever!

Cozy stay in the Dauntless room. Service was exceptional throughout and the Manager Nancy was there to welcome us and have a light breakfast ready. Fire pits were available overlooking the water. Such great views and a quieter stay away from the noise of Bar Harbor but a short 15 minute drive to the park. Would stay here again when we return to Acadia.
