After a 4 night stay at the Claremont, I can absolutely say it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to in terms of hospitality and amenities. From the front desk staff, to the gym/club/pool/kids/tennis club, and both restaurants, every single person was wonderful and helpful. It’s not an exaggeration. Our room was lovely, and we felt welcomed everywhere. My 7 year old daughter and I were there for an event in the area, and we used the 3 heated pools/gym twice a day. Unfortunately our flight out was canceled (and then delayed) for over a day due to a snow storm, and the front desk staff honored our original room rate for the extra night - even though online it had gone up by over $150/night - without asking, and kept us in the same room. It was also my birthday for the extra day we were

We had a wonderful stay at the Claremont Hotel in October. We had a king room that faced the ocean. The bed was very comfortable and our room was well appointed.||Our favorite part of this property was the overall aesthetic. It was somehow upscale and homey at the same time! I'd love to hire their interior decorator. The outside was also gorgeous! We loved the wraparound porch, especially. ||We didn't eat at The Fern restaurant but we did eat at the bar/restaurant down by the water. Surprisingly, it was one of the cheapest meals we ate on the island and it was very good.||The front desk staff was always welcoming! Most other staff were, also. However, there were two female employees, one in each bar/restaurant, who were not very friendly. They seemed almost "put out" to even serve us. Th

The Claremont Hotel is an incredibly special place and is now included on my personal list of favorite hotels for multiple reasons. The hotel itself is like being transported back in time. It gave me Dirty Dancing vibes with a modern-day twist. The location, decor (love the pink and green accents), and just overall feeling this hotel provides is truly extraordinary. I appreciated the views while relaxing by the pool, the porch and all the little bonus spots to sit/relax. Our suite was lovely and the bed...so comfortable. There was always a special touch to look at and admire wherever we were on the property from the breathtaking garden full of beautifully manicured blooms and butterflies, to the lovely lobby areas, Harry's lounge, Fish Camp and Little Fern. We enjoyed every inch of th

The Claremont oozed New England charm. Cozy and exquisite setting. Dining room lovely and food excellent. My big surprise was a place as lovely and expensive as this didn’t include some amenities that one comes to expect from a inn such as in room coffee makers , coffee / tea in lobby in the afternoon, and decent pillows. Details make a difference. They also tackled on a $ 50/ day resort fee which really should have been part of the rate and not a surprise afterwards.

If a hotel at this price point is commonplace for you, then you might not care about the issues. But if, like me, this hotel is a huge splurge, you'll likely be disappointed. Staying here was a bucket list item for my husband and me, so it was jarring just how truly unfriendly and inhospitable the staff are. We had planned to make the most of all the amenities at the hotel but ended up spending as much time as possible away from the hotel during the day and hiding out in our room at night because of how uncomfortable we felt being anywhere else. The bartenders, servers, front desk, baristas, everyone was so palpably bothered, so off-puttingly passive aggressive. We felt as though we were unwanted house-crashers and not guests paying $1000/night. Worst of all, I brought all these concerns u
