The Lodge at Cliff Castle Casino

Okay, so let's be straight and honest. This hotel isn't 5 Stars. Don't go in thinking it's more than what it is. Your not going to get the same amenities as you would staying in the hotel itself. Yes the walls are thin, yes it's a bit dusty. (It's a windy desert location) I read the reviews, and brought a power strip, as yes the outlets are placed wonky there. (We did find another there in the room so it shows they try) We honestly had a great experience though. The hot tub was nice, it's a heated pool too. It's open from 7-11 which is nice as most pools close early Security was checking in and monitoring things and watching for kids being left alone. Positive: The staff was wonderful. Negative: Room condition was clean but needed maintenance. A/C worked fairly well. Bathtub took 12 hours to drain after a shower. I had one shower with no hot water at all during of my 3 day stay.

I write this knowing that The Lodge isn't a 5 star Hotel before deciding to check in. I was satisfied with the stay. The staff at the Front Desk was friendly and helpful, answering any questions I had. I paid about $90 for the King Size on a Friday night, walk in, no reservation plus a $50 deposit. I would have had to pay a $20 charge for a microwave but I declined. When I got to the room I noticed they had renovations since I last checked in. Hard floors, no more carpet. It looked alright to me BUT the girls did notice the dust and someone's hair here and there. We enjoyed the selection of cable channels on the TV during the stay but I did notice the bed is not the quietest when being used. There could have been more outlets also. Housekeeping walked into my room without knocking while I was changing. We messaged the number they told us to message about complaints and they didn't respond at all. So that alone is a major safety and service issue and as a woman I would literally never go back. Also the front desk and check in just didn't exist? Had to go to the casino to check in and get a key. I see people saying it was $50 for them but for some reason we paid $90. So. Other than that, the room itself was big enough. Walls are absolutely paper thin, you can hear everything from coughing to snoring to even worse all night. I would give this a 0 if I could. We checked in at 8pm after driving all day. We get in the room to find stains on some of the blankets. There are no plug ins for phone chargers unless you want to unplug their phone and a lamp. The TV gave us 1 channel then eventually just stopped working overall. The shower head is rusted and sprays water everywhere. The phone I mentioned in the room earlier doesn't even give you a dial tone to call the front desk. There is no microwave and there is no refrigerator. We asked for a room away from other people and we got to listen to people on every side of us. Needless to say the walls are thin. We will never be back.
