My wife and I have stayed at The Line many times when visiting our daughter. We really enjoy the unique rooms . We have stayed in the Line apartment, king corner monument view and studio rooms. The rooms are always very clean and spacious with interesting views. Staff are always friendly and accommodating. We also like the Line cafe in the first floor.Has a neighborhood vibe , excellent food and is dog friendly. We love relaxing there in the morning with our dog and having breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.
I’ve driven past the hotel several times and thought it was a museum. It’s actually a former church. The entrance and lobby are very charming. It does feel like a 5 star place. Only thing is they could replace the carpet in their hallway, but that didn’t take away from the experience. I enjoyed the service and space. We did get a room facing a construction site, but it was quiet and it didn’t help that we booked the day before a big holiday. Next time I’ll just ask to be in a room facing another side :) Overall, a wonderful, unique time that I’d like to invite friends to also experience.
Positive: It had a fun retro feeling. Negative: The plumbing in the shower was NOT working. And they had no intention of fixing it. My understanding was that breakfast was included (I wrote it down after signing up) and it was NOT.The cost was higher than what I remember you advertising.
We love The Line! Great weeknight getaway over the Christmas holiday. Rooms are very comfortable and a very cool use of old church furniture like Hymnal signage or pews in the common areas of the hotel. (Site a former Christian Science Church). Comfortable bed and nice bathroom, interesting and original art in every room. The central space with the (very good) restaurant and bar is the former center of the church, and is spectacular. A great place to get dinner and have a night out in Adams Morgan - and at a very good price.
I stayed at The LINE DC this past weekend and unfortunately the experience didn’t match the way the property presents itself. The building itself is nice and the staff is friendly & accommodating. But the overall experience felt much closer to a 3-star hotel than anything approaching 5-star hospitality. The most frustrating part was the mandatory “amenity fee.” They charge a mandatory daily fee to use the wifi, slippers and robes... things that are standard inclusions at most hotels of all levels. The fee is not clearly disclosed upfront on their website or on third-party booking platforms, so it feels like a hidden charge added after the fact. If a fee is mandatory, it should simply be built into the advertised nightly rate. Tacking it on later is misleading. Even Google says “GREAT PR
