The L Hotel

I went with my sister for 2 nights and the location wasn’t the best, we didn’t felt safe at all returning to the hotel at 6pm when it was already dark. The service was awful - most of them didn’t speak English and weren’t helpful at all. When we checked out, we left our bags and they didn’t even checked who were leaving their bags or even when we went to pick them out (a stranger would have picked them up and they would have not notice). At the same time, when we checked in, they told us they were going to withhold 50$ in case of damage and it was going to be liberated one we checked out - nothing happened, they told me they were going to do it and the money was charged from my account regardless. I called them to request a reimbursement and they weren’t helpful at all saying that it was

Good hotel near the Subway which takes you right into Manhatten. Room was fairly clean. My wife is allergic to dust. She asked for some extra cleaning behind the bedside tables. That helped. Big TV. Good shower. Breakfast is nothing to brag about, but that's not to be expected. We could leave our Luggage behind the front desk. Friendly lady. Night person not so much. I would recommend it as a reasonably (New York standards) priced option

If you’re looking for fancy… this isn’t it. If you’re looking for budget friendly, convenient to the subway, close to downtown, small neighborhood.. this IS it. We have stayed twice and can’t wait to go back. The hotel itself is perfect for the price. The room is small, but has a microwave and refrigerator.Free parking is a huge plus. The staff is friendly. The rooms are simple but have very thing you need. The water pressure in the shower… incredible! The neighborhood is my favorite part. We love the pizza from Gravesend, We LOVE LOVE the halal chicken from the Finest Deli. We love bagels from sunset bagels. Stay here. You won’t regret it.

The location was perfect for sightseeing, and the hotel staff made us feel at home".

We had a slight issue with street noise late on a Friday evening, but the front desk immediately moved us to an identical, quieter room on a higher floor without any debate or delay. The rapid resolution meant we never lost a moment of sleep and were incredibly appreciative of the staff’s proactive attentiveness. The rest of our stay, surrounded by the European design and luxury bedding, was absolutely blissful.
