The Livingston - JDV by Hyatt

The Livingston Hotel by JDV Hyatt was a great option to stay in. The room was very comfortable, modern looking, sound proofing was great in a busy city like Brooklyn NY. Enjoyed the warm welcoming from staff as well as the views from the high floors and cafe which is at the roof level. There were minor issues as it is to be expected on a new hotel, like the restaurant being a little cold for my liking, but other than that nothing else. Note that if parking is needed, that needs to be found separately, although the hotel will have some recommendations and they are only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

Brand new hotel – I stayed March 2026, in the first few weeks after it opened. Modern attractive design distinguishes the rooms from other hotels in the area. Very clever layouts makes the most of the small NYC rooms. Overall a great choice, HOWEVER there are a few growing pains that I hope the hotel takes care to address: - The shower is *warm-ish*, but not *hot*. Both my wife and I found this unpleasant; we were hoping for a more relaxing shower. - The shower leaked incredible amounts of water into the rest of the bathroom. There was no barrier under the door to keep the water inside. - The elevator beeps on every floor it passes. Every room is near the elevators (very skinny highrise), so mornings and evenings you just hear a constant refrain of "beep... beep... BEEP... beep... beep...

Was able to visit during their opening weekend for Valentine’s Day. There were a few hiccups but nothing that can’t be improved. Checking in was quick. The staff was friendly upon check in. I booked the bed and breakfast package but The rep wasn’t knowledgeable of how it worked but the morning staff was. The room warmed up very quickly. I booked a high floor double xl bed with balcony. Room was small but very cozy. Shower was nice and hot. The mini fridge in the room didn’t seem to be cold nor did it have any adjustments that were visible. Nice balcony view. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The restaurant area was cold but that may be something being worked on. I recently stayed at the new Brooklyn hotel - The Livingston (Hyatt brand) and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The property is modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere the moment you walk through the doors. The staff truly made the stay exceptional. Every team member I interacted with was warm, professional, and eager to help. Check‑in was smooth, and they were quick to offer recommendations for dining and local attractions. Will definitely stay here again when I am back in Brooklyn for events at Barclays Center.

An amazing find! The rooms are beautiful, the staff is so kind and accommodating, and just an overall great experience! Not to mention a perfect location. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends!!
