The Kancamagus Lodge

Had a great time this past weekend at The Kancamagus Lodge! Very friendly staff, easy to check in/out, and within walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and other shops along the main strip. We booked the deluxe room and were very excited to find they had a steamer in the shower, which was so refreshing after time out in the snow and cold! They have a great size indoor pool plus a restaurant/bar attached to it which was so convenient and the food was honestly delicious. Definitely will be back!!

We planned a day trip to drive up to the White Mountains. While making our rounds back over to the Lincoln are it was getting late and our engine light went on. I knew what the issue was but instead of taking a chance driving home late at night and maybe run into in issue we chose to find a place to stay. We figured we would find a place at a reasonable price and we quickly picked the Kancamagus Lodge. We have stayed here numerous times years ago under the former owners and right after the present owners took over. I have to say The Kanc Lodge was a wise choice. Very clean, beds were ok, and the person that checked us in was excellent. The location is very convenient—right on the main road with easy access to food, coffee, and anything else you might need. There is also a bar/restaurant on site (not owned by the hotel), which is extremely convenient and a nice option to have without needing to drive. The pool is very spacious and goes to 9 feet deep, which is a great bonus and not something you see often. The rooms are cute and feel more like a home than a standard hotel, from the décor to the bathroom fixtures. Check-in was quick and easy, and the use of actual keys instead of key cards adds a charming, old-school touch. That said, the lack of soundproofing is extremely disruptive. Location was nice and room was clean. But the rooms have 2 windows that you can't fully cover with the shades so we had lights from the hallway and outside in our eyes. We were on the second floor and kind of close to the pool but not next to it and the room smelled of chlorine and the bedding smelled like it was cleaned with something with a lot fragrance. Also the music for the bar was so loud it was keeping me up. And the tissues felt so back a ruff it almost hurt to blow my nose!
