The Inn of Lincoln

Let me start by saying that I have stayed here several times.... It's one of those places that definitely needs some work on the outside but the rooms were always clean and spacious. Nice jacuzzi tub and fireplace. However apparently they are under new management and are renovating... That being said the room was filthy... The jacuzzi had hair in it and the place was just covered in stickiness everywhere... Big pile of grout on bathroom floor tiles lifting up. They did come and clean a bit after we complained. I actually wiped down the whole tub before filling it. Turned on jets and got in.. The drain is obviously defective... Water leaked out so fast and water was going everywhere. Not satisfied with this INN with Wyndham name attached to the name. First thing when you walk in to check in there’s nobody there except an older gentleman watching TV that says hello. Get up walks outside. dial the phone to get someone to come in the front desk Receptionist is nice. First thing that it should be mentioned is that this hotel SMELLS very bad. You smell incense, you smell curry, you smell mold. The pool is across the parking lot. Pool is locked. You have to wait for the receptionist to unlock the pool. There is a lot of cracks. There’s moldy and dirty vents. There’s dirt all over the walls. There’s a boards on the ceiling. The pool is cold not a heated pool at all. The rooms are a decent size very old fashion Motel Bates feel. The beds are horrible to sleep on not comfortabl

We were disappointed with our stay here. While the location was convenient and staff was friend and the beds were comfortable, we would not stay here again. The configuration of the beds were strange, facing a window that looked out into the hall. There were soft spots in several area of the floor, with a crack in the bathroom floor. The noises coming from the upstairs sounded like there was a dance party going on upstairs. Despite the fact that there was an envelope for tips, there was no housekeeping service, so nothing was restocked. The towels and bath mat were very stained. Breakfast was essentially some cereal and bagels. ||||We were in the area for an event with stays at other hotels being limited.

The proprietors were nice, but the accommodations themselves were not good. The motel was very old and extremely outdated. There were huge stains on the chairs in the room. There was a noticeable smell in the hallway outside of the room, the kind of smell one might consider to be an attempt to cover up some other smell. There was also a smell in the room. We were desperate to hike in the Whites that holiday weekend and were willing to pay $300 to stay somewhere and get up early to hike. Knowing now what it was like, we'd have been much better off to pay more and stay somewhere that was clean and up-to-date.

If it wasn't a little after midnight when we got there we would have not stayed. No cover on one outlet, a leg was falling off the nightstand, exhaust fan in the bathroom was hanging down on one side and it couldn't be run because it made a terrible noise, no elevator to the second floor, and the phone was flashing we had a message but would not play it. Overall the room looked and felt old with a coat of paint over it. |We had never started at a Travelodge before but, since it said "by Wyndham" we thought it should be a decent place. Bad assumption on our part.
