The Hickory by Low Country Rentals

My family and I rented 710 East 60th Street from Mark and Low County Rentals. The property manager that was assigned to us was Jessica. Jessica performed a move in inspection and a move out inspection with us. The property was professionally cleaned prior to us moving in. We had one maintenance issue during our lease and it was fixed the next morning at 730 am. We would definitely rent from them again.

I responded to a craiglist listing for a studio apartment and received some of the worst customer service possible. It felt like I had to BEG them to let me view the property before handing money over, the person I spoke with accused me of "wasting his time" because I wasn't planning on moving in until March. I then offered to pay the rent and associated fees for February as well (regardless of when we move in) and even then, the person I emailed with seemed to try to talk me out of it! He responded to let me know that it was a really small unit (which I knew, as the square footage is listed and I was actively seeking out a studio), and then asked if I was just coming to view or if I was really willing to pay rent for Feb. I still tried to set up a date and haven't received a response yet,

I had the great misfortune of dealing with the owner-Mark Dewitt-on another of his "properties" and saw this listing and the many 1/5 ratings. Please, before you even deal with this guy, just Google him. Or, better yet, ask to meet with or even just talk to him over the phone. You will find that he is nasty, abusive, condescending, rude and threatening. And that's all before you agree to rent from him. Once you sign a lease, he will threaten to release your personal information and to "find you". BEWARE OF THIS GUY!

Great location, but extremely annoying to enter and leave. 2 different keys and a keypad to memorize. WiFi password that was written in our room was spelled wrong😑. Missing basic necessities such as cups or even paper towels. The listing said that there was a shower, but all there was was a claw foot tub with a handheld head(that couldn’t mount up high) and no shower curtain(!), therefor rendering the spray head utterly worthless unless you want to spray water all over the walls and floor. Front door literally got ripped off the hinges by someone our first night and was still broken 3 days later when we left. Also, left a $200 pair of jeans in the room on accident when I left, and management never contacted me. Yea, I get it, my dumba$& left them, but still. Wanted to love it. Cool b

I would not recommend booking this apartment. I booked it through Expedia on September 5th and paid full price up front. For over a week I tried to contact the property owner with some questions about the unit. The voice mailbox was full and there was no other listed way to contact them. Expedia was no help. This morning, September 14th, I got an email, with no apologies, stating that the unit was actually not available and I had 24 hours to cancel the reservation.
