The Halbert Inn

I absolutely loved my stay here! I had visited Heritage Homestead once on my way through Waco and noted that there was an inn to stay at. So when I had a chance to come back, I booked the Eerie Canal room. The inn is a historic 200+ year old home that was moved here from New York. It's staying in a true piece of history. But everything inside is modern and comfortable. I stayed in June and the AC was perfect. The bathroom was probably my favorite with its oversized tub and a rainfall shower. You can spend the whole day walking around the homestead shopping, eating, or watching the blacksmiths and leather smiths working. It's such a peaceful place and I will be back! Family that was visiting us stayed at Halbert Inn. The Inn is beautiful and quiet. Not a kid friendly Inn. Bring your own entertainment if you have kids. I think it is worth the price to stay here.

I felt like I walked back into time and yet had more modern amenities than most 5 star hotels. Our room was absolutely perfect! And location? Walk the grounds of Homestead Heritage at night, Waco Waffle Co right out your front door, great coffee bar also right out your front door, after breakfast and coffee go see the shops and friendly people in the Homestead Heritage Village. There is no tv so you will have to talk to the people you are with! It was absolutely delightful! Robin and Jacob kept us informed, answered emails promptly, and checked on us via email without being nosy!! I promise to go back! You will want to as well.

What a comfortable, inviting place to stay, not to mention the incredibly rich history behind this Inn! We have stayed at the Mohawk Valley Inn twice while visiting Waco in the past few years and have enjoyed it immensely. It’s perfectly situated on the peaceful agrarian grounds of Homestead Heritage, walking distance from the mouth-watering realms of Cafe Homestead, Heritage Coffee, Homestead Market and Red Wagon BBQ, not to mention the high quality shopping and unique presentation of The Barn, Heritage Forge, Homestead Gristmill and so much more! And all the while being only a few short minutes drive from greater Waco. The property is impeccably maintained with every detailed provided for. The beds are comfortable (so comfortable I slept right past my alarm!) and the kitchen and laundry

Robin went above and beyond to make our birthday stay a wonderful one. Rooms are huge, comfortable, clean, and, thankfully, cool. The soaker tub is amazing 😍😍😍
