We will be back. The inn has an old New England feel that is perfect for the town. Rooms are very comfortable if a little bit small. Bathroom and shower very well set up and all clean. The bar is cool. We had a good breakfast. Portions are big so we split.||The deal clincher - the staff cleaned the snow off our cars!!
The Exeter Inn was a lovely experience. I was always greeted warmly no matter the time of day. My room was small, but clean and cozy. The tea and cookies that are put out at 4:00 every day were so lovely to arrive to after a long day! The breakfast choices were more than ample. My only comment is that the downstairs area smells a bit like a greasy kitchen. Overall, I had a great time and would be very happy to return! Thank you again for a very nice stay.
We had a wonderful overnight stay at the Exeter Inn. The room decor was unique and thoughtfully done — classy with New England personality, not cookie-cutter by any means. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was a standout: spacious, clean, and beautifully designed (and that smart mirror is to die for!) Every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the stay feel especially warm and relaxed. We enjoyed delicious hand-crafted cocktails and really appetizing appetizers at the Epoch restaurant within the Inn. Everything felt well cared for and intentionally done. A great place to stay if you’re visiting Exeter and want comfort, character, and excellent hospitality.
Overall this was a nice getaway, but the cost did not align with the lack of amenities offered. We stayed for Valentine's weekend in the European queen suite. The biggest problem was that every hour or so the heat came to a literal crashing hault. Sounded like someone banging on our window. It repeatedly woke us. Room- small bu cozy, with a decent size bathroom. Mattress was comfy but the pillows were not. Service- was very friendly and accommodating Restuarant- food was delicious and although it was extra was nice to have inside the hotel.
We have come to love this place. We prefer boutique hotels in general, and especially love those that are historic and located in walkable areas. We spent Christmas here and visited again in late February and early March. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean and interesting, the bar and restuarant are awesome. We wish we could live there!
