Customer Reviews
I had a great stay in a queen suite at The Ellery. Room is tasteful, spacious, quiet, clean. Lovely linens and comfortable bed. The Ellery breakfast is beyond standard hotel. Fresh food, china plates, ceramic mugs and tasteful preparation. Simple, but healthy oatmeal or avo toast with all the trimmings. The common area is without par: no tv blaring, and space enough to relax alone or with friend reading, playing games, or puzzling. A full library of interesting books relating to surrounding history, etc..Staff is exceedingly friendly. A reasonable walk to Smith and downtown Northampton so I was able to visit with no car.
I booked the Ellory for a one night stay on my road trip and I wish I could have stayed longer. After corporate boxes of previous stops, the colonial building and style was a welcome change while updated to feel neat and clean. I wanted to spend much more time than I had by the amazing fireplace in the common area and it was a great space to have the awesome breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful
In the past 12 days, I stayed there two different times. Both in two different rooms. And both rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. They have a breakfast buffet that they always change up and don’t forget the coffee. It is great. They are a little less than a mile away from downtown Northampton And Smith College. I noticed that they do have locations for dogs, which is a very good thing. The staff is fabulous and always willing to help with any questions you may have. Go and please enjoy.
Positive: Nothing except it is close to downtown Northampton. Negative: My brother checked in on a Monday, fell in his room that night and was taken by ambulance to the nearby hospital. We called on Thursday to find out where he was but they refused to confirm his whereabouts! Then the hospital called us later that day.
Lovely, sincere, helpful staff. I arrived looking more than a bit rough, with a lit-up headlamp around my neck, and was received with courtesy and a warm welcome. [I’d been in the woods at night.] Very comfortable beds at just the right height, with perfect pillows—and made up in crisp, white sheets. Bliss. Rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and rush-seated benches the full width of the beds. There are refrigerators, boot trays, and full-sized ironing boards and irons. Plenty of thick, white, cotton towels; unfussy, elegant bath fixtures that work perfectly; and neutral-scented Beekman 1802 toiletries. Quality textiles and practical room items delight frequent travellers like me: nothing twee, no kitsch. There is brewed, locally roasted Esselon coffee and countless choices of tea along
