The Don CeSar

We loved staying at the Don with our son and his girlfriend. I wish the view from our room had been better, but otherwise everything was nice in our room. Also, there may have been a sewer issue the first night, but then we didn’t notice it again. Fragrance at a hotel is extremely important!

Positive: Where do I start, from the valet upon arrival to the "on the beach host services" everyone was warm, friendly, professional and went above and beyond. I loved the champagne at check-in; the accommodations were above expectations. Negative: No, wish we could have stayed longer.

LOVED this hotel. It was our first time in St. Pete, I had a few professional commitments and brought my seven year old son and husband. This is a unique, historic, non-cookie cutter hotel. We loved the pool, access to the beach, the coffee shop (yay to no Starbucks), the restaurants were good (albeit a bit pricey) and overall, wonderful place to stay and would do it again if I went back to St. Pete. The only complaint was that the room was a bit small, however this is a very old hotel/bldg so that was understood but didn't take away from the rest of the amazing offerings. It is quiet and an easy uber anywhere or shuttle (there is an amazing golf-cart style shuttle called FREEBEE (it isnt free but is cheap) and you can use that to get around.

Stayed at the Don for a long weekend (Thurs-Monday) and was honestly underwhelmed. I’ll start with the positives: Location- love having the beach right on the property and the proximity to Pass a Grille, downtown St. Pete, etc. Entertainment- live music is fun, cocktails are great, food is good enough. We had a nice lunch on the beach. Bed was comfortable and our housekeeper was very nice However, for a luxury hotel there was a lot left to be desired. First, the room. Our room was on the 2nd floor directly above the lobby bar. The live music, while great when you’re sitting downstairs for a drink, is no longer enjoyable when it’s thumping through your room all night. Additionally, our hallway seemed to be a dog-friendly one. We love dogs, but our dog neighbor barked a LOT. The thermo

We were looking for some Florida Sunshine over the days leading up to NYE and headed to the Don Cesar for 5 days of relaxation and the new Year's Eve Gala. Our room was exceptional in it's space and set up. We had a beautiful view of the pool and beach from our windows. The Society Grill was delightful with exceptional service and tasty meals. The Fish Tacos were so good that I ordered them at three different meals. The Lobby Bar was fun and enjoyed the music on several nights. We spent a lot of the time napping and reading on the beach. And, the NYE Gala with all the Möet Champagne and great band was fantastic. Will be looking forward to another trip in the future.
