The Cottage Inn at Mount Shasta

I cannot imagine anyone giving this place a 5 star rating. At best, I give it a two star because I did have one motel that was worse. This motel is from the 50's. You cannot put lipstick on a pig, and this place should be torn down and rebuilt. The furniture is old, the room is small. Had to put suitcase at side of bed. No shelves in bathroom other than the toilet seat. Internet is minimal. There is a garage for the owners that they leave the door open so all can see the dirt and mess. And, it was $270 per night. Albeit a weekend.

Old and poorly maintained. Black electrical tape holding shower together, gray masking tape holding bathroom window together, blow dryer shorted out and wouldn’t reset, there is a television in the room, but it doesn’t get anything, not hooked up to cable or Wi-Fi. Carpets look like they are original from 1960. Mildew and spiders along the ceiling in the bathroom.

I stayed here over memorial day weekend with my family and can’t speak great enough about it! Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, and friendly owner. The room was recently remodeled, well equipped, comfortable and stylish. Prices are great and would without a doubt stay again!

Really nice reception. The room was great, very spacious and will organized. Only two things I would say is even though theyoffer free parking it is a small parking area so you might not be able to park there. I had to park on the street but it’s free in Mount Shasta and it was literally right across the street. Second thing is they’re trying to be an environmental with the air conditioning which I can totally get behind but because they have it set up that way, the AC constantly turned on and off so if you are a light sleeper, that may be an issue.
