The Brooklyn Hotel

I booked my stay at The Brooklyn because it was convenient for me to move around the city the next few days. My boyfriend and I were to stay from Monday, March 2-March 4. However, we did not check in until after 1:30am on Tuesday morning. Arriving in the room, we put our things down and called the front desk for extra towels, soap and lotion. Some minutes later, an employee by the name of Jatin Chawla brought up the items. We took them and closed the door. Only a few seconds later my boyfriend called the man back with a last minute request. Through the crack in the door and deadbolt latched, my boyfriend asked to exchange the shampoo and conditioner for extra lotion instead. The man came back moments later and the exchange was again made through the crack and deadbolt. Close to around 2:3

Absolutely horrific! Lobby smells like people have been smoking in there mixed in with very pungent smell of incense.... they offered a room on the ground floor - the door was propped open. I didnt feel safe! Let the front desk know... she offered a diffrent room on the same floor. The room had same smokey smell, the sink was full of hair! I wish I have taken a photo of the mess!

Absolutely horrible. Repugnant. Peeling wallpaper. Mold in the walls. Tears in the bed frame. Drawers don’t close. There is absolute no heat. There’s hairs on the bed from the previous person. The toilet paper was never replaced so I only had half a roll. Only one water bottle when it should be two. Hand prints on the walls. Had to wake up at 6:30 to move my car. Don’t stay here. They don’t give you refund so you have to stay. They don’t give you a discount. Across the street is a club so you hear thumping all night. Mattresses had tears in them. There was semen stains on the couches. Handprints and fingerprints all over the walls and remotes. The lock to the door was broken Check in took 15 minutes longer than it should have. Website photos that show a new clean room are inaccurate. The entire hotel is very run down, dirty, and in disrepair. There were small piles of dust and debris in the room corners. Shower did not drain well and the bathroom door was missing. The coutch was old, dirty and gross. However, the sheets on the beds were clean, thick and wonderful. Lol We cramed 5 people in 1 room and split the bill. We had fun with the situation. So for that, it was worth it.

Positive: The room was well equipped. I liked that the toilet was separate from shower/wash basin. Room service to attend to technical matters was quite good. One attendant assisted me kindly to my car with my luggage. Negative: Inability to details. Someone came into the hotel and they were bleeding they were not assisted by the staff.
