The Box House Hotel

nice little hotel on the tip of greenpoint, very easy to get to by walking over the pulaski bridge. it has a very charming interior and daily breakfast. however, the room could have been cleaned more thoroughly. when we arrived, the dishwasher was not emptied and had used plates that had not been cleaned from the previous guests. the countertop and some amenities also had crumbs. it wasn’t too big a deal, though. this is a nice place to stay if you want the swank of manhattan in a less congested neighborhood.

The atmosphere was very warm as soon as you walk in the building. Beautiful refinished wide wooden floors. The artwork was sublime. There were vintage pieces placed tastefully throughout the whole hotel, including the rooms: from victrolas to vintage books. The staff was accommodating, friendly and warm. Most of all, Box House Hotel was very clean. My wife and I will return.

My family (four adults) stayed at the Box House Hotel for two weeks. The room was clean and comfortable. The high ceilings contributed to the open and comfortable feeling. The kitchenette allowed us to cook meals. The common areas were kept clean and well maintained. The surrounding area was quiet and safe. The staff was friendly and attentive. Vitali, the doorman, was particularly helpful. This is now our go to hotel in Brooklyn. We look forward to staying there again.

Positive: I liked that the location was very quiet but close enough to walk to more active areas. Also, I was able to find street parking right by the front door to the hotel on a busy weekend. I also liked the art/decor. Negative: The tea cups they have in the rooms are really small so you would need to make 5 cups of tea to equal a mug. They just should have mugs.
