The Black Forest Lodge

We loved it here! We stayed on the meadow side which made it super easy to walk our dogs. The meadow was nice and big. Our dogs and my toddler both loved walking around. The rooms are nicely renovated and had everything we needed. Easy to get to Lassen and Chester which had some surprisingly good restaurants. The people who run the place are incredibly kind and welcoming. They went above and beyond with customer service!

Amazing stay here at the Black Forest Lodge. The freshly remodeled rooms were quite comfortable, with comfortable beds and a large shower! The lodge was kid and pet friendly, the staff and owners are extremely helpful and kind. We cannot wait for future stays.

A large room with a great bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable and the owners are fantastic. We had an issue with the AC unit and Matt was over to solve the problem practically before I could put the phone down. We also left an item in the room at check out and they promptly sent the item to my home (thank you Andrea!) It’s close to the park, where we stayed all day, and also close to the town of Chester where we had dinner during our stay. We also had room #1 and as a reviewer said, it can be noisy but that’s not the fault of the owners. We give it a 5/5 and would use the Black Forest Lodge in future visits to the park.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the lodge while we did a long weekend in Lassen National park. It was such a great trip. The rooms are super spacious and the king bed was so comfortable. We were able to hike early in the morning and get dinner in the neighboring city, Chester. We had dinner there each night, and I strongly recommend Happy Garden Chinese restaurant! The room had a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave, updated bathrooms, as well as a great view of the meadow in the back. At night, we brought a tarp and blanket to lay down and watch the stars. Overall, strongly recommend for their cleanliness and location to the National park.

Great stay The location was perfect close to everything I needed. Communication with the staff was smooth and professional, and they were always helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Would definitely stay here again
