The Beaucatcher, A Boutique Motel

Great motel. Looks like they are renovating. Likely more attractive in the warm season on the outside. Clean bed, clean bathroom and clean floor- I would have liked to have paid under $ 100 and that would have matched the quality more. Service was ok and he let me do an early check in.

No hot water, tub did not drain, free breakfast was not open at 8 am and walls were paper thin. Got zero sleep. Called manager to complain. He was asleep said he would be down soon. Asked what room. Put me on hold and then hung up on me.

Wow! I was really surprised at the state of the room after reading all the reviews. I understand that the property is being renovated, but it seems like we were given either a room that hadn't been renovated or had been beaten up after renovations. Problems included: Peeling paint, loose toilet seat, built-in soap dispensers in the bathroom that needed to be cleaned, multiple shades of paint, mini-pillows, we found 5 stinkbugs, stains, and broken furniture.

Usually great but definitely still fixing Helene issues. Rooms still not totally guest ready but still our favorite. Had to ask for TV set up,missing face plates to fixtures.

I read another review just before check out “Lipstick on a Pig”. That describes our stay exactly. To start with when we arrived, we could not contact the “after hour”/main hotel number because it was disconnected. And the guy running it seemed surprised, but did nothing about it as it was still disconnected 2 days later. The room was “clean” meaning no trash. The ceiling had 26 patched holes, we counted. Then the shower had one temp, almost scalding. When using the body wash provided, one pump and it continued pouring out almost 1/3 of its contents on the tub floor. The WiFi was not available in my room 223. We had to walk outside in the middle of the courtyard for signal.
