Tempo by Hilton Raleigh Downtown

The staff at the Tenpo were incredibly friendly. This place feels like home with someone saying Hi and/or welcoming you every time you walk through the doors. The downstairs bartender was amazing. She constantly had a large crowd in the evening. She was hilarious and made fantastic drinks. The upstairs bar was fabulous. Our room was immaculate. The third party valet was excellent and available all hours of the day. There were so many great places to eat within walking distance. The convention center was close for my wife and I was able to go explore both the city and surrounding areas. Loved it!!!

Well, I must say I was sorely disappointed in this hotel. TLDR: The staff is what is resulting in this 2 star review.||From the moment I checked in, things started off on the not-so-good foot. The receptionists at the front desk were not friendly at all. This would be a trend for the duration of my stay: one receptionist, a male (you’ll know who he is should you decide to stay here, which I don’t recommend) is downright rude, most others were apathetic, and one, a female, was actually really good.||Now onto the valet. The valet (which is mandatory) is $30 per night. It is located on the second floor of the attached parking structure. The staff working the valet leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel is immaculately clean and beautiful. Staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious with so many choices. Lobby smells delightful and has tons of places to sit and gather with friends. We loved everything about our stay.

I stayed at the Tempo Hotel in downtown Raleigh for one night. I was a bit confused about the building when I was dropped off. I saw a sign for Homewood Suites. Fortunately, the Tempo hotel was in the same location as the property is split into two separate entities. Upon check-in, I was greeted by Meagan, who was friendly and upbeat. I asked about a late check-out and was offered 2pm for an additional $50.00. My room was on the 11th floor, but the view was terrible. The Raleigh police headquarters is next to the hotel, so my view was a parking deck full of police cars. The room was clean, spacious and aesthetically pleasing, although the online pictures made the space look more luxurious than the actual appearance. The bathroom was clean, and the linens were fresh. Nice hotel. Walk to different sites, convention center, Red Hat Amphitheater and the capital. Many different restaurants nearby. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Modern accommodations and lounges with comfy chairs. Bar and cafe on site. Reasonable prices Valet parking and very prompt when you need to get your car. Roof top bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Didn’t use as ice storm has happening and everything closed early Friday and most did not open till Monday.
