Tarpon Lodge

We stay at Tarpon Lodge every year for our wedding anniversary. We travel by boat and dock at the lodge which has very good docking facilities. We love the property and the access to great fishing/boating. The dinners are amazing and we get the best of both worlds. A historical property with a fishing lodge ambience and great food. We have always found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. This is a great place for boaters, fisherman or just for a great unique dining experience. Not to mention the best sunsets in SW Florida.

Dining on the porch a very unpleasant experience! We just returned from having dinner in the restaurant. The food was superb and the service exceptional. However, we were extremely disappointed in the atmosphere. We had a dinner reservation for 6:00, and they seated us on the porch, one entire wall of which was open to the outside. It is January 16 and the high temperature at 3:00 was 60 degrees (check out the weather forecast - we are in the middle of a cold front). This may sound warm to those living in Wisconsin, but it is not warm in Florida, particularly after the sun goes down and temperatures drop off. Given the menu offerings and the prices, I would consider this a high end restaurant. Tarpon Lodge is going to lose customers if they keep seating them on the porch where everyone h

The low rating is specifically due to our extremely poor experience with their event coordinator who lacked professionalism, and went months without responding to us. We love the location on the water, it's a beautiful view with a dock and large lawn space. We wanted to host our wedding there for October of this year, so we reached out and tried getting in contact with the event coordinator, Ashley Johnson. No one had any idea of where she was or when she'd be back for weeks. When she finally returned she told us it was because she was sick, but no one else knew that or could communicate that to us? We finally got to meet her there to talk details which took so long because she was so unorganized and kept starting other conversations with people walking by as we were sitting at a table wit

Giving four stars only because the room was a bit smaller than expected, but everything else was perfect. The room had a big, comfy bed, a balcony big enough for two people to sit on, and a nice view of the water. Everything felt clean and is probably fairly new or renovated. The property is lovely, with a great grassy area and a beautiful dock where you can sit and watch boats come in and the sun slowly set. Everyone who worked there was quite friendly and was happy to chat us up and share local knowledge. The restaurant had good food and a nice ambiance. I found this place by pure luck and am happy I stumbled upon it. Loved staying on the island, and loved the location.

We came for the sunset per a Google search. Grabbed a drink at the bar first, stayed for dinner. Debbie at the bar made us feel right at home as we are from out of town. Her white sangria was delicious. The food was incredible. The house crab chowder, warm toasted bread, fish bites to start were amazing. I had the scallop special and my dad had the shrimp and grits. Everything was amazing. You can rent a place to stay also. Highly recommend
