Super 8 by Wyndham Raleigh North East

The staff was nice, patient and helpful. A friend recommended this place so we had good expectations. When we got to the hotel there were people smoking outside and we had to pass this lady who was by the door smoking. We don’t smoke. We checked in and was directed to our rooms. When we turned we to get to our floor, we were glad we only got the second floor because going up the stairs with luggage was not fun. We opened the doors to the hall and it stunk so BAD! It smelled like smoke, old food or I’m not sure what it was. It was like a mix of smells. We went into our rooms and none of our rooms had an iron to use for our dress-up shirts from the suitcase. Some of the outlets didn’t work and some of the devices weren’t even plugged in. The beds looked clean and we had booked everyone here

Roaches in room dog poop I. Hallway. Hotel did not clean or accommodate for dirty room and unclean hallways and smell. Reported my dissatisfaction with room and hotel did not try to fix situation.

If you are looking for a quick cheap stay overnight, this hotel is perfect. Check in was very easy. They do require a refundable $40 deposit that was not advertised online. There are stipulations for the refund, but all in all if you’re respectful, you’ll get it back. We had two dogs with us and typically it would be $25 non-refundable fee per dog but they only charged us for one, which was really nice! Now onto the reviews about bugs and cleanliness. It is not the CLEANEST hotel. However, our sheets and towels were spotless. We pulled the sheets back and mattresses are in beautiful condition. The bathroom was cleaned very well. Down to the grout being cleaned which is a big deal because hotels don’t normally deep clean the bathroom floors like that. The only down fall is I did find 3-4

The room was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the elevator is OUT OF ORDER!! I called because it would be a late check in (12am) and there was NO mention the elevator was not working. My husband is disabled and we had to take the stairs to the 3rd floor! The front desk lady was very apologetic and tried to accommodate us as best as she could, even moving her vehicle so we were able to park in front of hotel.

Positive: Convenient location into the city. I’d come for a concert at Lenovo Center and the drive was quick. Negative: The room smelled absolutely awful. It was a mix of cigarettes smoke, urine, and mildew. The shower water did not get warm. And, the elevator was down. I don’t mind steps, but I got locked out NUMEROUS times because of the stairways not being labeled.
