Super 8 by Wyndham Montrose

Really really wanted to love this place. Great price, great location and they had such cute attention to detail. All the paper in the bathroom was folded and cute. The room was clean and well equipped. BUT we noticed when we entered the room it was very sterile smelling which I said to my husband “at least we know it’s clean!” Whatever cleaner they use in the room immediately irritated my throat. I was up for hours because my throat hurt so bad. We left early this morning and it’s slowly getting better. Whatever cleaning agent or room deoderizer you use. Use about 3000% less

This is my go-to hotel for Montrose/Delta area. I travel regularly for dog events. Hotel if very clean with updated rooms. Pet friendly rooms are located near the back entrance on first floor. Easy access in/out to the potty area of pea gravel & rocks. Can also walk along the back fence of parking lot. Clean rooms w/2 Q, fridge, microwave, good storage, desk. Pet fee $10/pet/pn which is lower than many hotels these days. The light breakfast is typical waffles, cereal, prepackaged Danishes, fruit. I never eat it since I bring my own food. There is an Arby's next door & Mexican restaurant across the street. Many other food choices long the road. Easy access for our event locations.

Positive: The best thing about this hotel was leaving it. Yuck! Negative: Do not use this hotel! I booked 2 nights in a non-pet room due to allergies, but the room assigned was pet friendly. Hotel would not move us to a new room or cancel without fees. Room smelled like animals. Found 50+ ants on bathroom floor. Sheets stained.

Meet my expectations for cost.|We booked based on three factors: location, accepted pets, and cost. Cannot beat it for those priorities!|Super clean- even for a pet room! And spacious!|Breakfast was meager with no meat, eggs or juice- but again very inexpensive!|Water pressure not great in the shower.|Best location for visiting Black Canyon of the Gunnison. We went back and forth a couple times.

Plus: - clean room - friendly staff - good beds - you could sit outside at the back of the hotel, there were some picknick tables (some regular chairs or a bench would have been even more plus) - okay breakfast with two choices of brown bread, not just jams but also peanut butter, and yummie pastry. Still quite limited to what we are used to in European hotels, but better than we had in other American hotels. Minus: - No seats in the room, you could only sit on the bed - The 2nd morning the juice out of the juice machine was warm. The 3rd day there was no juice at all and no boiled eggs either. Bummer, cause we enjoyed the brown toast with eggs the most of all the breakfast options.
