We stayed at the Double G last weekend. We rented the Eagles Nest that has a near 360º view. Frank and Sandra were wonderful hosts, very friendly and informative of the area offerings. They live on premise, along with Sandra's mom, three friendly dogs, and a cat. There are also horses, chickens, and other livestock in pens about the property. Breakfast was served each morning, and they prepared us a wonderful steak dinner on Friday night. ||I would highly suggest a stay here. The sky was beautiful at night, the accomodations were comfortable and friendly, and the hosts were so friendly. It was the best way to end our vacation.

We’ve been home for 2 weeks now since our 6 night stay with Frank and Sandra and we are STILL talking about the wonderful time we enjoyed there!!! We are ready to go back!!! First let me say that communication before the stay is excellent!! Frank welcomes you at your arrival and gives you a complete tour of the property answering all questions and most important introduces you to the best dogs ever…Shadow, Sammy, and elderly Thomas! We stayed in the beautiful Eagles Nest with fabulous views of the property, mountains, and our own mini balcony. Every detail was considered and every needed amenity provided. Amazing working horse ranch at the base of the San Juan mountain range. It is run by a German couple that also trains wild mustangs found in the area. Accommodations (we stayed in the Eagle's Nest room) are large, modern, and have amazing views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Hosts will cook you tasty traditional European menus for dinner and provide wine and cocktails. There are chickens, horses, dogs, and cats around to view and interact with, and trails around the property to wander. It is a 30-minute drive to the towns of Ridgeway and Ouray, and a short distance to the Million Dollar Highway through the mountains. Frank, the host, drew us custom maps outlining road closures and other points we needed to know about, as well as his favorite restaurants/bars in the towns.

Just delightful... What a beautiful, quiet, and comfortable place. The hosts are amazing, both the human and animal hosts. The human hosts were very friendly and thoughtful, and cooked an exquisite breakfast for us on the patio. The chickens, goats, sheep, rabbits, and horses made us feel welcome, and the big dogs, Shadow and Sammy, were excellent tour guides on the many hiking trails around the property. There were countless thoughtful touches around the cabin that made the stay extra nice, from q-tips in the bathroom to string lights on the porch, to the fuzzy blanket on the futon. Just a really, really nice and memorable stay.

What a great, hidden gem! Frank and Sandra have a fantastic BNB (yes, with a delicious breakfast every day) on a cute little farm tucked back in the trees but close to both Ridgway and Montrose. Frank excels at serving others as the greeter, butler, chef, maid and anything else that’s required. Sandra is an amazing chef as we chose to host our friends for a steak dinner and it was easily better than Ruth Chris with farm-to-table everything. We will definitely become regular visitors!
