Super 8 by Wyndham Mesa Downtown Near Convention Center

Positive: Hot tub Negative: Loud. Fireworks, barking dogs and loud housekeepers talking in hallway early every morning. Refrigerator and toilet make noise. Bed is also loud. Only coffee was free. All food in vending machines.

This place is astonishing. I have never witnessed a hotel used as a drug front and thought this was something that only occurs in movies. Within a span of 10 minutes around 11 PM, I witnessed a handoff in the parking lot, watched several people with backpacks on enter/exit different rooms, and witnessed lots of coming and going in and out of the parking lot. Hot water does not work, regardless of room, as mentioned in other reviews. Room was filthy with cigarette burns in the sheets and stunk of weed. Will absolutely be calling my bank in the morning. Insane.

Room is really clean, with a microwave, coffee maker, a fridge, iron and ironing board. My room has a small balcony. They don't serve breakfast but have coffee 24 hours. Front desk staff are considerate and professional.

Watch out because when making reservations online there is a $50 room deposit in case of damages that is not stated on the website. You will get it back if there is no damages but they will charge your card and credit it back. The room I got did have cigarette burn hole in the comforter and sheet. There is shady people staying there with loud dogs barking. The man at the front desk was "just there" and was not welcoming. The newly renovated rooms are as nice as can be for an older motel. I think they use this place for homeless people with vouchers. Not the most welcoming hotel. It is a last resort motel. If you can find another place to stay go there. There is absolutely no breakfast either. Nothing but vending machines with hardly any selections for breakfast.

I booked 9 rooms for a school sport event. This hotel is definitely not it.. rooms smelled disgusting definitely not smoke free like it said.. the girl in front desk did not want to be there- not welcoming - basically said here’s your keys figure it out (which btw gave all random rooms different floors) reservation was made weeks prior. the bed sheets smelled horrible. We often rent hotel rooms for club sports and school events and never had I disliked one until now.. we felt unsafe and dirty. It was disappointing because I usually book Super 8 and no issues at all. The only reason we didn’t go to another one was because we arrived really late and everyone was so tired after a long day and had to leave early morning the next day
