We spent 2 nights here. Our room was very nice. It was clean, quiet, and allowed us to bring our Border Collie where there was plenty of room for him to roam around. The lady that checked my husband in was very nice and when I needed ice and had to go upstairs, she let me look around. We did not eat here, only because we were visiting family but the breakfast area looked very nice. Overall, we were very pleased. Thank you very much.
If you are in Hot Springs, SD the Super 8 is a solid choice. Honestly, it’s hard to beat the quality for the price. The staff is super friendly and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The rooms are clean and spacious and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. It’s one of those spots that just feels like a good find. Highly recommended.
Positive: clean beds clean room it was set up well and had plenty of parking and access the place makes an honest effort and staff is welcoming. building needs more than superficial work. Negative: the rooms were musty, or had a sweat like smell to them., we sprayed lysol in the ac units. it didn't help i found black mold behind my toilet. in my opinion there is some mold/moisture issues with the building.but cheap price=cheap room.
Overall not a horrible hotel for the size of the town. Outside appearances was a little lack luster questions whether or not we were at the right place. Having to use a phone to get someone up the the front desk was inconvenient and a bit confusing. Room was small but nice and clean; bathroom was incredibly small and outdated and the bed was uncomfortably firm. Breakfast was very limited on options but for a smaller hotel it's what is expected. Location is right next to the Mammoth Site and not too far from Evans Plunge so perfect for families.
Booked a King room for one night. Was given a queen room that smelled strongly of smoke. Went back to the front desk. The staff there said that all king rooms were occupied and the smell was because the former occupant had tools in there. He handed us a can of Febreze! (He did not deny the smell). Also said we could open a window, however the screen in the window was bent and there are mosquitos! Overall the room was shabby and did not feel clean. There were stains on the bedding and carpet. Based on the vehicles in the parking lot I imagine a lot of road crew/seasonal workers live there (pilot cars, trucks etc.) The staff said the rooms were first come first serve and that the website doesn’t keep up so he couldn’t give us the king bed we had booked. No discount was offered for the
