FlatIron Historic Sandstone Inn

My wife and I had an incredible experience staying here at this historic Inn. The room was very clean and cozy and absolutely perfectly rustic look and feel. And the free soak pass you get at Moccasin springs was the perfec touch to the evening incredibly serene and relaxing!!! 100% loved it and will back. Staying at the Flatiron is your chance to experience the wonders of Hot Springs South Dakota. If you stay at the Flatiron, you will have access to the Spa as a special amenity. Moccasin Springs is an ancient spring with continual flows of the Water that I believe has healing powers. Native Americans have traveled to Moccasin Spring and other springs in the area since the beginning of time and they consider the Waters to have sacred healing powers. I never heard back from them about having only enough hot water for half a shower. We waited for a half hour and it still was just warm. After being on the road all day we just wanted to shower and go to bed. For the price we paid we'd expect hot water.

We really enjoyed our stay in Suite #3. It was quaint and homey, and the king size bed was very comfortable. We prepared our own dinner 4 out of 5 nights. We enjoyed staying in and dining at our own pace. There’s no microwave, which didn’t bother me but someone else might find it inconvenient. Hot Springs is a little far south for “doing” the Black Hills but you’re always driving through beautiful scenery so we didn’t mind that either. We would recommend this inn and town. Five stars.
