If you are looking for an affordable stay, then this is it. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I wish there had been a lamp on the bedside table instead of the bright room light and a shelf in the shower to place my items. The area is a little sketchy and the walk to the train is a little far, but we had no problems, and I feel that no one would. Even though there is breakfast, we did not eat there, but on the last day there, there was a young lady passing out lunch bags with breakfast in them. Not sure what was in it. The front desk staff were professional and helped us to find our way to where we needed to go. if you do stay there, be ready to ride the train for a distance to get to the city.

We stayed at Super 8 for a week to celebrate New Year and we liked our clean room, the bed is comfortable and soft, the receptionists are nice, you guys they have a nice hot water unlike other comments here. The hotel is a bit isolated but it’s only 5 minutes of walk to subway (L train) which is a plus. We always went back at the hotel late at night and we never experienced any disturbances or anything bad in the street. The only downside they have is the complimentary breakfast (water bottle, yogurt, and few cookies) I hope they could do better than that. But, all in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Two night stay in December. I called check in with my name & number to say I was coming in late, and was told it's okay. Then when I got off the plane, I had a message saying that my reservation would be cancelled if I don't contact them by 9PM. I specifically told them I would be arriving later than that!? I called back repeatedly since it was still 1HR commute from JFK and no one answered. If they cancelled, I may have ended up at a better hotel, but I was still able to check in 🙃 Definition of 'no frills' hotel: Thin walls No heat or A/C No hair dryer in the bathroom. Low water pressure. Thin towels. No hooks for the towels. Phone did not work. Internet slow. TV only had wonky local digital channels and no cable Idk about the breakfast situation, but I feel like I didn't miss anything.

I give it a 2 because the room was cute but quaint and clean. That's on first entrance. It should get a 0 because we checked in at about 4, checked out the room, turned on the heat, and went about our business. Luckily we didn't leave anything in the room, because when we got back we were hit by the stench of cologne and the heat was turned off. I thought no harm, nothing was taken, so whatever. Later I got into bed, and there was that stench again on the comforter. Someone had been in the bed and they made it back up. I immediately attempted to call the front desk, but the phone was dead because it seems that the cord was pulled from the wall. I called from my cell to complain and request another room. Reception changed my room quickly, it smelled great, like what my original room smelled

This is a new hotel and as of Sept 2021 it is not ready to host actual guests. (Edit: seems like these aren't problems anymore) So much is not working properly. The elevators are a pain. The hot water is not functioning and we were compensated for this but in hindsight it was not nearly enough, and I had to ask for a discount they weren't going to present me with one. The water didn't even work at all in our first room and management didn't know and had to be reminded to look into it. Once we got working cold water The shower was an abysmal drip, it was not easy to bathe. The staff seems like they're trying their best but there's just so many issues. The rooms are clean because it's new but other than that our stay is not as advertised. There's supposed to be free breakfast but I have see
