My honest review of this hotel as a solo traveler? Honestly it was good. I arrived fairly late at night (minutes before midnight) and the front desk was more than happy to check me in. The breakfast was a simple bag with muffins, yogurt, fruit, and bars. Enough for a breakfast and kept me full. There is a diner down the road (like 2 minute walk) with good prices and good food. I got a medium pizza and it was around $10 including tip. The subway station was about a 5 minute walk, super convenient location. Some guests on the floor were a bit loud, which was frustrating but not the hotels fault. Also right by the subway station so you’ll hear that all night, but I ended up tuning it out pretty quickly. From the first glance at the neighborhood, it is deep in Brooklyn in a neighborhood. So if
We were forced to stay at this hotel since all flights out of NY had been cancelled and there weren't many hotels to choose from. Another hotel helped us find this one. I feel like I stayed in a landfill. From the moment we opened the front door of this empty room except for the glass that surrounded the receptionist, we smelt pot. This is a non smoking place........... You have to smoke that stuff. The neighbors adjacent to us had their TV on ALL night. And the smell of the pot was coming from their room. It was making me gag. I had to cover my nose when I slept with the pillow case. One bed set of bed sheets looked like it had not been washed. One towel was discussing and the smoke detector was covered with plastic so it wouldn't go off. There is a double train track that trains run o
I spent NYE in Brooklyn, NY. I went by myself to try and get myself out there. Prior to arriving the address provided through Booking.com was the incorrect address. The address I received through the website I booked my stay at was actually an address to a homeless shelter. Luckily I found the correct address on google maps. The area this hotel is located has what some would say “character”. I personally didn’t have the desire to explore such an area. Thankfully taxis exist. Now despite what I’ve read on this hotels reviews. Customer service was adequate. The gentleman at the front was nice. Heavy accent but I was able to understand him. I thought the building from what I saw was actually very clean and modern. And I am very observant. My room was very clean. No creepy crawlies, no weird s
I don’t even know where to begin. The Super 8 by Wyndham in Brooklyn, NY is hands-down one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, and I TRAVEL OFTEN. From the moment you step inside, the hallway hits you with a musty, old, wet-carpet smell that should’ve been my sign to run. When I got to my room, things only went downhill. The bed was literally broken, the walls were filthy, and my room faced the train tracks — which means a train ROARED past every 10 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG. Sleeping was impossible unless you’re used to living next to an active construction site. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the hallways were loud, with guests yelling and slamming doors at all hours. I don’t know what kind of crowd this hotel attracts, but it definitely isn’t the quiet kind. Housekeeping? A joke.
New hotel but the cleaning lady came only once (I was staying 4 nights). Breakfast is only a paper bag with some sweet pastry. So don't expect to be full. There is nothing to hang my clothes on. Bed is comfy and bring earplugs. There is a metro railway under the windows.
